Arnold, Missouri is home to the world’s only manufacturer of rifle rounds based on .22 caliber. The company was founded in 1901 by George W. Arnold and his brother, Hiram. The Arnold Rifle Round is still in production today and remains one of the most popular shooting rounds in the world. The history of this round goes back to 1876 when John Moses Browning designed the first self-loading rifle round that could be fired from a muzzleloader or shotgun. This round was called the “Browning Automatic Rifle Round” and it was used by American soldiers during World War I. After World War I, interest in this type of ammunition waned but it wasn’t until 1949 that George W. Arnold resurrected the Browning Automatic Rifle Round as a new product called the “Arnold RifleRound”. The original “Arnold RifleRound” was made to shoot at distances up to 100 yards but over time it became known for its ability to shot small game at long ranges. In 1954, George W. Arnold merged his two companies and created what is now known as ARNOLD Ammunition Corporation. One of ARNOLD Ammunition Corporation’s primary products is the “Browning Automatic Rifle Round (BAR)” which is still being produced today as one of America's most popular shooting rounds!

The Arnold, Missouri Armory was started by Nathan W. Arnold in 1875. The armory was first used to store weapons and ammunition for the local militia. The armory became an official arms depot for the city of Arnold in 1883. In 1916, the armory was purchased by the city of Springfield and renamed the Springfield Armory. The Springfield Armory closed its doors in 1964 and underwent a renovation that included adding a new magazine well and enlarging the building to house more than 350 guns.

The first post office in Arnold was established on July 6, 1856, and named for General Oliver O'Hara Arnold. The current post office was established in 1957. According to the 2010 census, the Village has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,569 people, 953 households, and 602 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,694.4 people per square mile (611.1/km²). There were 1,080 housing units at an average density of 727.2 per square mile (291.7/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97% White; 0% African American; 0% Native American; 0% Asian; 0% from other races; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5% of the population

Arnold is a small town in Dexter County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. Arnold was founded by the Arnold family in 1836. It became a state capital in 1907. Arnold is named after General James A. Arnold, who fought in the Mexican-American War and Cuba's War of Independence. The first settler in what is now Arnold was Isaac Winchester, who arrived on horseback from Illinois around 1836. By 1840 there were nine families living here including Arthurs and others like them who had come west to start new lives and improve their chances for success in an often harsh land environment. The first church established here was Baptist with services being held at the home of Mrs Wigglesworth until 1841 when a larger building was erected on the east side of town near present day Cemetery Road. In 1846 John Pemberton arrived from Ohio and built a log cabin on his farm south of town about three miles east of where it stands today’s Post Office Building (now known as Arnolds Drugstore). He would later become one of the most important citizens hereabouts through his ownership and management of several businesses such as Mr Jakes Hardware Store, Keg Brewery & Butcher House (now known as Phelps Feed store), Masonic Temple No 2 (now known as First National Bank) and other enterprises that contributed greatly to civic life during those early years when Arnold consisted only of farmers and their families scattered among some 500 acres Of rolling prairieland sparsely stocked with timber but teeming with game both wildebeest and buffalo fill out this vast region which stretched back to Indian Territory “looked upon by some as Nature’s last frontier” according to one historian On November 3rd, 1868 – just two short years after news reached America that Kansas had seceded from Missouri – Deep Springs resident John Hamerin organized a meeting called by himself to consider asking for annexation into Kansas due to various grievances felt by many residents: lack of water supply; difficulty getting goods acrossKansas state line; high school education being denied access to men; etcetera etcetera etceteraetc… After much discussion it was decided that no annexation should be effected at this time since there seemed little chance that such requests would be granted anyhow even if they were made given Kansas political conditions at that time which seem preoccupied with internal issues rather than external threats or problems initiated within our own borders . However deep springs did become an annexation territory under newly formed Kansas State government following the Civil War In 1896 Lizzie Bourgeois opened her grocery store located on Main Street between Seventh Avenue South and Eighth Avenue North serving all within easy reach until 1938 when she closed her business due to consolidation among other stores operating within walking distance either then or now including MCD Antiques & Collectibles next door along Seventh Avenue North also open since 1896 providing retail shopping opportunities unique today not easily duplicated elsewhere
Arnold was founded in 1853 by a group of farmers who had emigrated from Germany. The town grew rapidly, and in 1871 it became the county seat of Putnam County. In 1916, Arnold absorbed the neighboring town of Florissant.
