Southaven is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hinds County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 2,859 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jackson metropolitan area. The CDP covers an area of and had a population of 2,859 as of the 2010 census. As of the 2000 census there were 1,956 people residing in Southaven CDP including 847 households and 574 families. The population density was 636.1 people per square mile (239.4/km²). There were 1,906 housing units at an average density of 269.2/sq mi (111.5/km²). The racial makeup of Southaven CDP was 99% White and 0% Black or African American

However, some residents remain active in local politics and culture today.
