In 1897, the United States Post Office moved from Meridian to Picayune and remained there until it closed on July 15, 1957. The community of Picayune experienced significant growth following World War II when businesses began to open up and residents decided to move into the area. Today, the community has a strong agriculture heritage with many farmers running their own businesses. During the summertime, many people gather at Park Lake for swimming or fishing; however this activity is no longer allowed due to changes made to the local waterway by levee control engineers. This gave the user either 270 degrees or 540 degrees viewing angle around their firearm depending on how far away they were from it (the farther away you were from it, the less degrees you could see). The fourth and final type ofswivel was developed by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1797. The Conte Swivel consisted of two large circles that rotated on an axle which would be attached to either side of the barrels or stocksof firearms used by militaries and militias alike across Europe during the late eighteenth century and early nineteenth century. This gave users up to 720 degrees viewing angle around their firearm! Gunswitches continued into the twentieth century, but finally went out production in 1928 with the Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle! These rifles featured lockable bolt action turrets that allowed for different sighting angles along with its own revolving magazine system! It is interesting to note that these rifles were not particularly effective at hitting targets at long range due to their lackadaisical design, but they did provide excellent field reports when used close up!
