BB guns were first brought to Picayune, Mississippi by white settlers in the early 1800s. In 1824, a man named Benjamin Fenton bought land near Picayune and began to build a house on it. Picayune is a city in Missisippi. It was founded in 1847 by General James M. Wilkinson, who named it for his native town of Ypres, Belgium. The city has a population of over 120,000 people and is the county seat of Jackson County. It is the largest city in Jackson County by area and second-largest city in Mississippi by population after Jackson. Picayune was founded on October 12, 1847, when General James M. Wilkinson arrived with 3 Companies of United States Infantry from Memphis to establish a military post at the mouth of the Yazoo River to protect settlers from hostile Indians. He named the post for his home town of Ypres, Belgium - which he had come to visit while on an official military mission to that country some years earlier. The first store opened in Picayune on November 1, 1847. In 1861, Confederate General Robert Ewell established Fort Pillow near Picayune as part of his effort to skirt Union forces commanded by Ulysses S. Grant and Sherman respectively as they advanced into Mississippi Territory during the American Civil War (the Western Border Campaign). In 1865, Picayune became part of newly created Jackson County after it was split off from Hinds County following the Civil War; however its location made it difficult for residents to get around so it never achieved much development until after World War II when Interstate 44 replaced US 11 as Mississippi's main north-south highway artery throughJackson County The growth potential for Picayune came about due largely to its location within easy accessof major highways linking southeastern Mississippi with central Louisiana and points eastward throughout most of America; also because cotton industry production increased rapidly along I-44 corridor during postwar decades On December 2nd 1945 J C Penney announced plans for a $30 million retail development project known as "The Mall". This mammoth project would have involved demolishing many existing businesses including one-time local landmark The Woolen Millinery & Petticoat Store which stood adjacentto present day Interstate 44 and developing what would be today's downtown area including multiple shopping malls and office buildings housing Northwestern Airlines hangar and other associated structures Construction began on what would become Penney Plaza on May 1st 1946; however just ten months later On July 15th 1947 fire destroyed entire building killing all employees save two firefighters who were able to escape unharmed . A new mall was built approximately 10 miles awayon Airport Boulevard which reopened permanently on October 16th 1949

Browning designed and manufactured his famous BB Gun known as the Browning Rifle which could fire rounds up to 30 feet (9 meters) away from its muzzle using slugs that traveled at up to 1800 miles per hour (1210 kilometers per hour). In 1903, World War I began and soon afterwards technology improved so much that artillery shells were no longer effective against targets as large as humans or animals because they were too big and heavy for handguns to hit effectively. As a result, infantrymen had to start using artillery weapons such as mortars and howitzers instead which led to increased civilian casualties due to indiscriminate fire on innocent civilians living near military encampments
