In 1911, Charles Tilton became president of JB&S Manufacturing Corporation. Tilton renamed the company Greeneville Arms Company Ltd., after his birthplace in England where he had originated his firearms business interests two years earlier. At this time, Greeneville Arms Incorporated (GAC) was one of the leading handgun producers in the United States with manufacturing plants located at Indianapolis (1911), Newark (1912), Baltimore (1913), Buffalo (New York City) (1914), Stroudsburg Pennsylvania (1920) and Decatur Illinois (1924). GAC continued to produce handguns until it ceased operations on October 15th 1951 due to lack of demand following World War II; however some guns remain extant as collector items today including several types of Glock handguns made by GAC during its heyday such as Colt Government Model Glocks chambered for 9mm Parabellum caliber only! The second handgun manufacturer to make a significant impact on Pascagoula was Winchester Repeating Arms Company which entered into business here in 1913 with its first rifle – the Model 1903 Springfield Rifle- an all steel design utilizing a 7in barrel that fired a rifled slug via a screw breech mechanism fed through an opening at the rear of the barrel called an ejector rod which ejected slugs automatically when operated? Although not as successful as Winchester’s original introduction into this market segment by introducing their own bolt action rifle designs such as their Model 1915 Winchester model A(R) – Winchester Repeating Arms Company soon dominated American rifle manufacture becoming America’s premier producer of centerfire arms making models like lever action rifles such as Winchester Model 1897 actions sporting choke tubes capable of taking either .30-06 or .308 rounds while also having sliding stock assemblies allowing fire from both left-handed or right-handed shooters! During prohibition times firearms dealers were not allowed within city limits therefore many firearms products were imported from Europe although most often these were reloadable cartridge weapons variant versions/models like Browning Automatic Pistol calibers 9x25mm Mauser (.22LR), 10mm Luger (.380ACP), 6 mm Sig Sauer 8x57mm Rifles etc.? However despite these difficulties purchasing weapons became increasingly difficult due to tight security regulations placed upon cities during this period? Consequently some citizens groups formed themselves “gun owners” devoted to keeping firearms available within city limits even if they could not lawfully possess them? Pascagoula, Mississippi is a city in Jackson County, Mississippi. The population was 36,872 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Jackson County. The city was founded in 1837 as a small town on the banks of the Pascagoula River. In 1881, Pascagoula became an incorporated city and it has been its current form since 1978. Pascagoula's economy is primarily based on agriculture and manufacturing. Major industries include poultry, cottonseed production, papermaking, petroleum refining and natural gas production. About 60% of Pascagoula's jobs are in service or retail trade; 30% are in professional and scientific services. The history of Pascagoula began withCaptain John Chilton sounding the first white note on October 16, 1837 when he played his fife at a game between two boats on the riverbank near present-day downtown Pascagoula. There were no permanent residents living here when Captain Chilton arrived so he set up camp for several weeks while looking for more suitable land to settle upon according to some historians[1]. A group of Choctaw Indians had recently been moved from their traditional hunting and fishing grounds along the Tombigbee River to what is now Jackson County after being driven out by white settlers in what is now Alabama[2]. They were transported overland across primitive trails through central Alabama before landing at Mobile Bayou about three miles (four kilometers) east of Fort Payne during early summer 1838[3]. After weeks of exploration they located a tract of land on which they built their village called "Chitlin" (now part of Mobile). While there they met Captain John Chilton who had also landed there that year[4], although accounts differ as to whether he played anyofficial role in founding this village or not[5][6]. When word spread among these new arrivals about potential riches awaiting them west of Mobile bayou many decided to move sooner rather than later; within a few months most had left for Texas where goldmining began soon thereafter.[7] A few years later another group led by Rufus Roberson settled down around modern day downtown Pascagoula which included land adjacent to where Banks Landing now stands[8][9]. This area lay immediately south and west of contemporary downtown today and served as a community staging area for goods arriving from off-shore oil rigs operating near Pensacola beach during those days(see Oilrigs in Gulf Coast Area).[10] By 1840 only 10 residents lived here including four Indians who worked as slaves until 1863 when they were freed under General Robert E Lee’s orders following his victory over Union forces at First Manassas.[11][12] At this point commercial activity started up again with local merchants starting store fronts inside old government buildings such as Court House Annexe which still stands today [13][14] while other businesses opened up along Railroad Street directly across from City Hall building which housed newspapers & public meeting rooms back then [15][16] until it burned down circa 1890/1892 [17][18], also resulting in its demolition c1990/1992). What does remain today are several pieces from that building such as one side window sill remnant still standing even though originally covered by plywood! In 1881 Pascagoula became an incorporated city pursuant to an act passed by the state legislature designatingJackson county as home for all new municipality formed within Jackson county except Meridianville established earlier that year[]19.[20]). Incorporation marked an important milestone because it allowed citizens greater say over municipal affairs and ensured continued obedience to state laws despite sectional differences among certain sectionsbannerpatedownsideofthesouthtowestportofJacksoncounty[]21).[22]),althoughthecitydidnotmaintaintruetothis arrangementuntil 1974whenitbecame fully self-governing once again []23)]. The Pascagoula River formed in the Mississippian Era and its course changes frequently. The river's name comes from the Choctaw people who lived along its banks. The Pascagoula was a major fur-trading and shipping center during the late 1800s. During the American Civil War, General Robert E. Lee used Pascagoula as his base of operations for his supply train movement through central Mississippi.
