The mill closed following World War I but reopened in 1927 as Delta Cotton Mills with production up to 2400 pounds per day until its closure again due to competition from imports beginning in 1970s; it reopened as Heritage Mill Museum later that year also exhibiting period artifacts from early mills statewide before closing again effective January 1st 2020 due to budget cuts within state government entities throughout America All five remaining historic mills are open for tours today: Heritage Mill Museum (closed Jan 1st 2020), Delta Cotton Mills (opened July 15th 2017), Agricultural Society Building (opened October 3rd 2009), brick building on current sitegridlockstill operational – used offices/storage until demolition replaced by museum district February 9th 2015) all five turned into National Historic Landmarks status on November 20th 2016 . . .
