Lewis & ClarkHolsters Corporation soon became one of the leading holster companies in America. Over the years, they produced a wide range of holsters including handguns, shotguns, knives, and more. In 1966, Lewis &ClarkHolsters Corporation merged with Colt Firearms Incorporated to form Colt Holster Manufacturing Incorporated. This marked a major change for the company as it transitioned from a holster manufacturer to an ammunition manufacturer.
Olive Branch is a town in Rankin County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jackson–Metairie Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Olive Branch was Isaac Halsey. He and his family immigrated from England in 1824 and settled on a tract of land that included present-day Olive Branch. In 1827, Halsey married Anna Lamar and they raised five children: Sarah (baptized 1798), James (1829-1903), Howell (1831-1900), Fannin Lamar (1833-1914) and Anna Belle (1835-1913). They were all Methodists. In 1856, Isaiah Halsey's son Howell farmstead was burned down by Union Pacific Railroad workers while they were carting logs to build a new depot near present day Mount Carmel Cemetery. The fire resulted in $5,000 damage to the property but no injuries or fatalities because most of the people living there had already left for winter before the fire broke out. In 1865, James Halsey bought 160 acres adjacent to what is now Olive Branch from John Thornton for $10 per acre ($2 million today). This land became known as "The Ranch" because it supported only one crop – cotton – until after World War II when other crops began to be developed on this parcel including apple trees and soybeans. Anna Belle Halsey died on October 8th, 1913 at age 91 years old due to pneumonia caused by a cold he caught while working on his plantation during Hurricane Florence which swept through Mississippi that month killing over 100 people primarily in coastal counties such as Mobile Bayou Parish near New Orleans both states had been hit hard by Hurricane Florence according to Federal Emergency Management Agency data as well local media reports however she remains buried within her father's plantation home interred next to him along with their 5 children who also perished during Florence including Howell who later moved away from Plantation life into statehood becoming an educator at Mississippi State University Hattiesburg where he still teaches today prior to going into politics being elected Mayor of Jackson City Councilmember having served since 2015
