This led to a shortage of firearms on American soil, which was exploited by gun dealers who could sell weapons at rock bottom prices to anyone who would listen. In 1947-48, an NRA investigation revealed that some companies were selling surplus firearms at prices below firearm trade laws (which at that time applied only to handguns). As a result of this investigation, Congress passed the National Firearms Act Amendments of 1949 whichregulated firearm sales and created a Firearms Owners Identification Card (FOID) system thereby helpingto prevent theft and illegal sale of firearms

There are also several restaurants serving both local cuisine and southern cooking concepts such as Barbecue Bob's BBQ Shack which is known for their pulled pork sandwich; Colonial Grille which serves up classic southern dishes such as catfish baskets;and Southern Emporium which specializes in seafood items such as oysters Rockefeller or gumbo Rocheforte style soup/grilled cheese sandwiches). Additionally, there is a large library providing access to books on many different topics including history, mathematics, science fiction/fantasy literature, etcetera
