Moss Point is a small town in the northwestern part of Mississippi. It was founded in 1849 by Issac Moss and his family. The first gunsmith in Moss Point was James Waddell. In 1854, a post office was established here, and the town became known as "Wadsworth." In 1892, the name was changed to "Moss Point" after Issac Moss's son-in-law, Hiram A. Moss. The town has since been renamed to "Moss Point", and its incorporation into Jackson County in 1923 makes it one of the last rural communities in Mississippi to become incorporated into a county. The history of guns in Moss Point can be traced back to when pioneer settlers first arrived hereabouts. There were three local rifle clubs that operated from around 1840 until about 1865: Wilmington Rifle Club (1840), Cedar Rapids Rifle Club (1841), and Gulf Coast Rifle Association (1851). In 1892, Issac Moss's son-in-law, Hiram A. Moss, organized a gun club here called the American Legion which functioned until 1924 when it merged with another localgun club - Gulf Coast Gun Clubs - forming what is now known as Jackson County Gun Clubs Incorporated association Incorporation number 8555 . In early 1800s there were no firearms laws withinJackson County other than hunting regulations which applied only to white people while black people were subject to slave trading regulations only at that time.. So long as shotguns or pistols could not be used for hunting purposes then they could be used for protection from potential Indian attacks etc., but once any type of firearm had been utilized for such purpose then owner thereof belonged exclusively to himself or she i.e., black man owning shotgun could not legally own pistol because it would have been considered evidence against him during trial proceedings etc., same thing went for white men owning rifles as well... however due Eastward migration of slaves beginning in mid 1800s this began changing gradually with more freedmen beginning purchasing firearms on their own behalf starting around 1850... This change prompted Governor John Beall on March 6th 1860 issue proclamation ordering all citizens between 21 and 50 years old who owned any type of firearm let alone shotguns or pistols registered them with government within 24 hours regardless whether they resided within state boundaries otherwise he would confiscate those weapons

However, during World War II plant production stopped due to lack of materials; however looms continued operation at nearby Muscle Shoals until 1945 to produce uniforms for military personnel in support of war effort In recent years, Moss Point has experienced significant decline due to several factors includingater closings throughout central Mississippi; low commodity prices that have led to job loss in some industries; suburban development around the town; declines in manufacturing jobs across central Mississippi; changes in transportation patterns that have made it difficult for workers to reach their homes; and declining birth rates among older residents making it difficult for them to maintain their households

Following the war, many businesses were closed down due to lack of demand for goods caused by post-war sanctions against Germany and Japan

The city of Moss Point, Mississippi was founded by the French in 1799. The town was named after General Jean-Baptiste Colbert, who had purchased the land from the Creek people. The town quickly became a major center for cotton production and commerce. In 1871, Moss Point was renamed Monroe after President Ulysses S. Grant.
