He was determined to make his store stand out from the rest. He bought all the necessary tools and materials himself so that he could focus on his passion: selling knives. His son, Bill Prentice, took over operations after his father died in 2000. In 2007, John's grandson Brian Prentice founded the Third Generation Knife Shop with the goal of continuing family tradition while expanding into new markets. Today, Third Generation Knife Shop offers customers an extensive range of knives including ovens & baking mitts as well as fishing gear & more! They also offer instructional videos on how to use their products properly. With such a long history and unique offerings at their store, it's no wonder that this family-owned business remains popular among locals in Long Beach – even 25 years after they started!

Long Beach, Mississippi is a small town located in the Gulf of Mexico on the Gulf Coast of Texas. The population was 2,471 at the 2000 census. It is part of Jackson County. The first Europeans to visit Long Beach were French traders who named it "Nouvelle Angoulême" (New Orleans). In 1803, Spanish traders called it La Isla de los Muslos Negros (Island of Black Ankles). The name change may have been due to a natural phenomenon: according to legend, black sand beaches dotting the Gulf coast produced similar looking anklets in lots of different places around Cuba and Mexico City. In 1836, James K. Polk became President of the United States and decided to make Mississippi an official U.S. state. On January 3, 1837, he gave Long Beach its present name: Long Beach Meadows after Lieutenant John Fife McDowell who had explored this area for Spain about two years earlier in 1835-36 while serving as U.S.-Mexico surveyor general under Polk's predecessor Andrew Johnson - one year after Mexican president Vicente Guerrero had ceded Texas to America as part Sinaloa territory following his conquest there during the Mexican–American War that ended with American victory on July 4, 1846 over Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna's forces at Palo Alto Creek near Austin (present day San Antonio), Tex.). The first post office opened in Long Beach on November 12, 1907; it was moved from its original location three miles west in 1909 because of flooding caused by Hurricane Agnes which hit that area on October 24th that year. Mail service continued until 1974 when all mail was discontinued within Jackson County because of budget cuts brought about by then Governor Strom Thurmond Jr.. According to recent estimates as of 2010 only 1 percent remainsof historic buildings dating back before 1900 remaining in Shiawassee Township including churches and other religious structures such as a stone school house which was built in 1902 and has been preserved as a museum; also remaining are residences built between 1910-1920 primarily for white farmers living along US Highway 81 bisecting Shiawassee Township but also for black families living east or southeast thereof including what is now known as Music Row which began developing around 1920 when several small businesses sprang up around what is now Ikea furniture store across from Shiawassee High School

The history of Long Beach, Mississippi can be traced back to the early 1800s. The area was first called "New York" by the French and then became part of the United States in 1821. By 1830, there were five families living in what is now Long Beach. In 1838, Captain John Fenton of the brig "Natchez" landed here with a party of traders and settlers. He established a small community on present-day Long Beach Boulevard and named it after his native town in France, Louisbourg. In 1839, Fenton's son-in-law, James Bledsoe, donated land to build a Methodist church on what is now Third Street. The congregation first met in an old cabin on this site in 1840. In 1847, the longitude line was surveyed from New Orleans to Mobile Bay and Long Beach was chosen as its southern terminus. This location made it convenient for shipping traffic during times of drought because it could be reached from both ports without having to go through Biloxi or Hattiesburg. It wasn't until 1861 that Long Beach received its own post office which operated for six years before being closed due to budget cuts by then Postmaster General Franklin D Roosevelt. During World War II (1941-1945), Long Beach sustained damage from aerial bombing raids by American forces and subsequent firebombing raids by Japanese planes prior to the war's end. A memorial honoring those who lost their lives at sea are located at Pensacola Naval Shipyard just east of town on Isthmus Boulevard where USS West Virginia rests today as a museum ship open daily 9am - 5pm
