In Hernando, Mississippi, the gun cleaning history is long and intertwined with the culture of the community. It can be traced back to 1878 when a group of men from nearby Greenwood built a post office in what is now known as downtown Hernando. In 1934-1935, Attorney General James Fenton created special task forces composed of state troopers and local law enforcement agents to enforce new gun control laws that were being passed by Congress throughout America- these laws banned all open carrying of firearms except those authorized under specific permits and regulated magazine capacity (10 rounds or less). Hernando County is located in the U.S. state of Mississippi and is part of the Jackson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 97,536 as of the 2010 census. The county was founded in 1837 by Hernando De Soto, who named it for himself and his father, Hernando de Soto II. It became a judicial district in 1868, and absorbed most of Holmes County before becoming a full county in 1907. The area now known as Hernando has been ruled by Native American chiefs from at least 10,000 years ago. In 1492 Arawak Indians killed explorer Christopher Columbus while he was exploring the Gulf Coast region near what is now Tallahassee, Florida; this event helped lead to Spanish colonization of North America and their concurrent invasion of Florida which began in 1565. The area that would become Hernando County was first inhabited by Akhoyen people until they were pushed out by Creek Indians about 1250 AD; according to one source, this event left behind evidence that a large creek ran through present-day central and eastern Hernando County where oak trees still grow today. European settlement began with Englishman John Smith’s military expedition across the Gulf Of Mexico in 1609–10 when he discovered Pensacola Bay; however it did not reach what is now called Hernando until 1614 after sailing around Cape Verde on an expedition led by Pedro Menéndez de Avilés. The first permanent European settler in what would become Hernando County arrived in 1784 when Frenchman Pierre La Salle landed at Thibodaux on St Ann’s River to trade with the Choctaws/Majusi tribe; this site later became known as Demopolis because many Frenchmen died during their attempts to explore these parts (La Salle being one notable exception). In 1795 Major General James Wilkinson sent Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers Clark along with 400 men overland from Mobile Bay to explore new land east of Mississippi River including what are now Harrisonburg Township and Adams Township; however Clark’s party never reached its destination because they were met by hostile Apalachee Indians who forced them onto march all night long before finally giving up the attempt two days later near present day Pascagoula; although unsuccessful, Clark learned important lessons about Indian tactics which he returned home with which he developed into his famous strategy for invading America – “the march on Washington” – five years later during the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783). Although not directly responsible for starting World War I due to his death soon afterwards – Battle of Monmouth Heights (September 11th), 1916 – Rogers Clark remains recognized as one of history’s great leaders both militarily and philosophically due to his seminal work on strategic reconnaissance which played a significant role in early battlefield planningmethodologies employed against Axis forces during World War II (1939-1945). During Reconstruction following World War II many African Americans relocated here from southern states such as Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana etc.; some estimates place the number between 50% and 100% black residents within modern day Hernando County today . As time passed more white residents migrated westward into Mississippi Valley creating tension between races that continues to this day . One local historian has written: "There's plenty enough racism going around without there also being too much integrationist sentiment". However progress has been made recently with several small neighborhood groups formed specifically catering towards African American citizens dating back to the late 1990s aimed at reversing some negative trends within those communities .
