However, with growing economic opportunities within nearby cities such as Jackson and Tishomingo combined with increased cultural attractions within both towns since then (such as music festivals), Concord has seen an increase in African American residents over recent years. Today's economy largely depends on agriculture; however commercial development has begun to take hold in downtown Corinth since construction began on a new shopping mall called "The Grove" adjacent to Interstate 15 last year.
