The museum was founded in 1990 by a group of local residents who were interested in preserving the history of their community and its relationship to firearms. The museum has since grown into an important resource for people living or visiting Clinton, Mississippi. The first gun magazine in Clinton was founded in 1892 by John Duryea. Duryea was a blacksmith and entrepreneur who built his business around producing firearms and ammunition. He began production at his shop on Main Street in downtown Clinton. At the time, gun magazines were uncommon in America and were only found in select few locations such as London, England. In addition to handguns, Duryea produced rifles and shotguns as well. Duryea’s store became one of the most popular shopping destinations for locals in centralclinton. His products drew customers from all over town because they offered affordable prices and quality items unavailable elsewhere. Over the years, other businesses followed suit and soon there were several flourishing industries operating within downtownClinton! In 1923, Mayor James Aiken renamed Main Street “John Duryea Boulevard” in honor of our pioneer blacksmith-entrepreneur! John Duryea Boulevard remains today one of the most iconic street names associated with Clinton today! Over time, other businesses cropped up within DowntownClinton including restaurants (Canyon Grill & Lounge & KFC), antique stores (Pine Top Antiques & Coin Shop), a hair salon (Amber Waves Hair Salon), a florist (Banana Blossom Florists) and more! All these businesses shared one common goal: Keeping things small-scale while providing excellent customer service! To this day, DowntownClinton still operates primarily as an Retail district with many thriving small businesses located along John DuryEA Boulevard! Today, gun magazines play an important role not just within our community but throughout America as well!!! They provide collectors with opportunities to purchase rare artifacts that would be difficult or impossible to find anywhere else!!! Clinton is a small town in Mississippi, United States. It is located in the Jackson County seat of Meridian. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. Clinton has a post office and two banks. In addition to its locally owned businesses, it also has three public schools and one private school. The town was founded in 1827 by refugees from the American Revolution who had fled to nearby New Orleans. The first store in Clinton was built byMethodist Reverend John Stephenson and his son-in-law James Coker on present day US Highway 59. Clinton's beginnings can be traced back even further; according to legend, a group of young men led by Captain James Troup journeyed through the area after hearing about gold buried under the earth near Meridian. Once they came across what they thought were wells of oil, they abandoned their search because finding such riches would have required more than just walking around looking for them – it would have required opening up some sort of excavation! When General Andrew Jackson arrived in Mississippi during the American Civil War (1861–1865), he discovered that much of what he saw as slave territory had been taken over by Union troops under General Ulysses S Grant – including Clinton itself! A heated battle ensued which left many dead on both sides: including one man known only as "the general's Negro". Afterward, much of what remained of plantations were destroyed or converted into homes for white families – all while slaves continued working on their plantations! In 1865, with cotton growing increasingly difficult to find markets for due to increased competition from other crops, President Abraham Lincoln called for an end to slavery throughout America! This proclamation led directly to the founding of Clinton – named after Lincoln’s original planter friend and advisor Senator Charles Sumner! Today, Clinton continues to be home to a large number of residents who are proud Americans who continue working hard every day despite difficult times. Many businesses have come and gone since 1995 when local resident Lloyd Herring opened his first business; however, there are still many familiar faces here who keep things rolling along like Mrs. Gail Hendrickson running her grocery store since she started out as cashier at age 5 or Mr. Robert Fenton filling prescriptions for his customers since he began doing so at age 8! His wife Donna also operates her own business - Hillary’s Bakery - which has been opensince 1978! Despite these tough times over recent years (which haven’t exactly been kind to small towns), locals continueto put their faith into local government and support its efforts no matter how challenging things may seem; something that really shows when you take a look around town square where there is never any lack of activity whether it be construction or holiday events!)
