In 1903, the first gun magazine in Woodbury was started by a group of men who were looking to create a place where they could discuss and debate firearms. They built their own printing press and published their first magazine, The Rifleman, in October of that year. In 1916, The Pistolero launched its first issue and it still remains one of the most popular gun magazines in the area today. In 1923, The Rifleman changed its name to Gun-Sunday and it is still published today.
Woodbury is a city in Saint Cloud County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 9,731 at the 2010 census. The City of Woodbury was organized on December 14, 1892 by David S. Noble and named for General John A. Woodbury, who had served as the military governor of Minnesota from 1868 to 1870. The first settler in what is now Woodbury was James Kincaid and his family who arrived on a boat from England on November 16, 1853. They farmed in present-day Clearwater until 1855 when they relocated to what is now downtown Woodbury. That year they built a log cabin which stands today on Center Street close to the old post office building (now the library). They would stay here until 1860 when they moved again - this time to their current site north of town along State Highway 12. There they founded the first school in present day Woodbury which operated out of an upstairs room in the older courthouse Building until 1903 when it moved across Main Street into its present location next door to the high school (now Century School). In 1865 $5 were raised through local subscription and money was taken by Wm Hennigan to purchase land east of town where he laid out a subdivision called "Hennigan's Ridge" that still exists today with many homes still standing dating back to that time including one that is currently registered with Historic American Buildings Survey as being National Historic Landmark #8294256! In 1880 another group of settlers arrived led by Jens Olsen who started farming near what is now downtown St Cloud and also laid out some properties east of town including what is now west side Park Avenue. This area became known as "Oldtown". In 1886 Jens Olsen sold his land east of town to Charles Goodall who then donated it back to Government roads and established two churches there – First Presbyterian Church (later Maplewood Presbyterian) and Second Methodist Church (later Holmen Baptist Church). These churches remain active today both inside or outside their original buildings! In 1902 Charles Goodall sold his remaining land west of town to George Condon who established himself here as a lumber trader before moving permanently east into Hillsboro about 5 miles away in 1904! One can only imagine how busy this area must have been during those early years with so many people moving around! In 1916 Jens Olson's grandson William Olson bought 160 acres north of town from Jens Olsen for $10 per acre which included much of what remains south side Park Avenue today! It wasn't long before William Olson decided he wanted some property himself located just northeast corner Of Main & Elm Streets facing I-35W!! He purchased this lot approximately 1/2 mile SEOf Market Street between 2013 & 2016 !! This parcel forms partof Block #1 –formerly known as "Woodbine" !!! After years deliberation we've come up with a name for our new place - "Olson's Woods"! We couldn't be more excited about this addition TO THE CITY OF WOODBURY !!!

Woodbury, Minnesota is a town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. Woodbury is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The first settlers in what is now Woodbury were Norwegian immigrants who arrived around 1868. The town started as a small settlement on the southwestern edge of present day Ramsey County. In 1890, it became a municipality and by 1912 had reached its present size with a population of 2,500 people. Growth continued through the years until World War II when the population plummeted to 811 due to warfare and other factors. Since then, growth has resumed and today the community has a population of over 1,600 people and celebrates its nickname "The City of Lakes." One of Woodbury's most notable residents was city councilman Charles Wirth who served from 1951 until his death in 1976. Wirth helped pioneer zoning laws that have shaped much of downtown Woodbury today and also worked to promote economic development in the town while serving on various city councils throughout his career including stints as mayor (1958–1960), vice president (1974–1978), and supervisor (1981–1983). He also played an important role in helping create Forest Park which Today is one of Minneapolis' largest open space areas with over 5 million square feet (460 hectares) Of parkland located within walking distance for all ages
