By 1900, West Side Station consisted of a storehouse (nowimusical Instrument Museum), two hotels/inns (the First National Bank Building and Pillsbury Hotel), three churches (Methodist Episcopal Church, Lutheran Church of America South Dakota Chapel Complexes 1-3 & 4th Presbyterian Church), one school (built into an old grocery store), four businesses (three shops and one restaurant) including WSB&H Manufacturing Company which manufactured radios and other electronic equipment; five homes were built; also located inWest Side Station were two dams which formed Lake Hiawatha: North side Dam & East side Dam
