In St. Peter, Minnesota, the Gun Owners of America (GOA) has been working to protect gun rights since the late 1800s. Prior to GOA’s existence, firearms were not common in this small town and society was largely dependent on hunting and fishing as its primary means of sustenance. Consequently, citizens had little opportunity to learn about or own firearms. As a result of GOA’s work over the years, St. Peter has one of the most restrictive gun laws in the United States. The town passed a law making it a felony for anyone under the age of 18 to possessing any firearm without first applying for a license from local government officials. In addition, all guns must be registered with GOA before being allowed within city limits. Despite these restrictions, GOA members have successfully prevented crime in their town and continue to do so today. In recent years, GOA has also worked to pass other measures that help protect innocent civilians from harm while keeping firearms away from violent criminals and terrorists: - A new ordinance requires all businesses with more than 10 employees to have state-issued photo ID cards that show both your name and photograph - All handgun sales must go through an approved dealer who will provide you with a safety certificate stating that you are completely safe handling your weapon

St. Peter is a small town in the northeast corner of Minnesota, United States. The population was 553 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The town was named for Saint Peter, who was martyred in Rome in what is now Hungary. The first settler in St. Peter was John Aiken, who arrived around 1855 and started a farm east of town on what is now State Highway 169. In 1870, another settler, George Mueller, founded a lumber company on the west side of town and began to build houses there. One year later, William Henningsen started farming to the south of Mueller's land and moved his herd of cows into what is now St. Peters Cemetery (now known as Henningsen Lane). In 1872–1873, two men named Hendrickson built a log cabin on what is now Main Street just north of present day School House Road (then called Indian Hill Road). This became their home until they sold it to Isaac Noren in 1876 for $1 per acre (the current lot size). Noren had married Anna Pettersen and her family had come from nearby Duluth when she married him in 1865. He farmed the land around his house until he lost it to foreclosure in 1904; then he leased it from the state for use as an agricultural fairgrounds during World War I before selling it back to Pettersen’s son in 1923 for $3 per acre ($ ). John Aiken’s daughter Ernestine also came to St. Peter about this time and started having children there around 1875 or so; these were baptized at Everson Lutheran Church which still stands today across from First Presbyterian Church east of town on State Highway 169 (current site of Park Avenue Elementary School). When Ernestine died young without issue about 1886 or 1888 some people thought that she may have been buried there because her father had left instructions that all her remains be interred “in preference to any other place where she might be mourned by friends heretofore living” but no one knows for sure since records do not mention any such burial ever taking place at that time either inside or outside St Peters churchyard! However after many years extensive research by local historians we believe with certainty that Ernestine likely received post-mortem burial within our parish cemetery located just west side of present day High Street between Old Main & Second Streets just south new building addition erected 1984-1995 which consolidates old 2nd Story frame structure previously used as Chapel/Church Annex prior to remodeling—namely Resurrection Parish Cemetery!
