Shoreview is a small town in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 337 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The first gun in Shoreview was a shotgun purchased by Enoch Pratt on October 6, 1855 from Fenton & Co., Merchants Warehouse No. 7 in what is now the heart of Shoreview. This was followed by a rifle on January 4, 1860 when Galt resident James Wicker bought one from David Blythe at auction in Duluth for $50 cash and two rifles valued at $200 each from Captain John Richardson of Duluth. On July 3, 1861, shoreview residents Isaac Kneeland and Nicholas Crouch donated four shotguns to the town after learning about Minneapolis' secession from Minnesota and its arming for war effort with three cannons taken from Fort Snelling arsenal on May 9, 1861. On October 5th of that year Mayor George White delivered an ordinance setting up "a proper armory" within the limits of Shorewood village where citizens could purchase firearms "for use against Indians or any other endangering public safety." In 1876 the town raised money to buy six more shotguns while Englishman Jno Weldon contributed one rifle worth $100 which also funded local arms purchases through 1881-1883 inclusive.. In 1895 shorewood voters bestowed upon their newest post office (named after then-Mayor George White) a name that would be prominently remembered: Gadsden Avenue Post Office - honoring General Nathan Bedford Forrest who had been active in leading Confederate forces during the American Civil War and later became president of Reconstruction South Carolina before moving to Georgia and becoming Ulysses S Grant's Vice President nominee as well as numerous other influential positions during Reconstruction era including Collector of Internal Revenue for 12 years until his appointment as Ulysses S Grant's Secretary of War beginning February 25th, 1877). It should also be mentioned that Michael Ritchie (founder/CEO/President Emeritus), owner/operator since 1978 First National Sporting Goods store located at 425 N Maple Street across from First United Methodist Church has been sitting on Gadsden Avenue between Third Street NW and Fourth Street NE for over 100 years!

The Shoreview Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1892. The club first met at the old Masonic Lodge on North Second Street. The first gun parts were made by repairing rifles and pistols that had been donated by members of the community. In 1916, the club moved to its current location on South Third Street. The club has continued to makegun parts ever since.
Shoreview is a small town in rural Minnesota. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is located on the shore of Lake Michigan and within the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1857 by immigrants from Hungary. Shoreview is one of two towns in Minnesota that are still named after Hungarian leaders, the other being Pascagoula. The first settler in Shoreview was Nicholas Hickey. In 1857, he and his wife, Catherine (née Kuzman), moved to what is now Shoreline Road from a farm about three miles east of present-day Shorewood. They built a log cabin and started to grow corn and potatoes for their own use and for sale to other settlers. In 1861, they had five children: Nicholas, Johnathan, Christina (born 1865), Mary (born 1870) and Anna (born 1872). Nicholas Hickey died young in 1862 at age 44; his widow Catherine continued to live there with their six children until her death in 1893 at 82 years old. She is buried beside her husband in the nearby Saint Dominic Catholic Cemetery. Johnathan Hickey married Lena Willard in 1865; they had two children: Lena Jameson Hickey (1867-1954) and Johnathon Maurice Willard (1869-1948). Christina married George Ladd in 1872; they had one child: George Ladd Hickey (1873-1964). Mary married John O'Brienan on October 8th, 1875; they had one daughter: Mabel O'Brienan Heineman (1877-1959). Anna married Jens Nielsen on November 4th 1886; they had one son: Jens Olsen Nielsen (1888-1976). The next few years were difficult for the community as more people arrived to take advantage of new land grants available through the Land Grant Act of 1862. There were also difficulties due to Indian Wars fought between United States troops and Native American groups during this time period. However, over time things began to improve as better transportation became available and crop prices increased due to increasing demand from abroad For example, when railroad entrepreneur David McLaughlin bought land adjacent to where modern day Shoreline Drive meets Lake Michigan beachfront property it facilitated development that took place starting around 1900 The town saw its peak population growth around 1910 when nearly 400 people lived there

Shoreview is a small town in Marshall County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. Shoreview is located on the Mississippi River and has a major airport. It is named after Charles W. Shore, who surveyed the area in 1858 and built a dam to create what is now Shoreview Lake. The first permanent settler in what is now Shoreview was James Sibley in 1857. He purchased land east of present-day downtown from the Dakota Sioux tribe for $1 per acre (the land was then part of the Dakota Territory). In 1865, Sibley sold his holdings to John Dickey for $5 per acre (Dickey had come from Illinois). Dickey founded the village of Apple Valley which grew up around his mill complex on Strong's Creek north of modern-day downtown Shoreview. In 1872, Danish immigrant Ole Hansen bought about two-thirds of Dickey's stock and moved to shoreline farmingsteads west of present day downtown. By 1880, most of Apple Valley had been abandoned due to depletion from mining operations; however Hansen maintained some buildings near his farmstead until his death in 1915. In 1905, David Ladd purchased much of what is now westshore township from John Ahern for $6 per acre (Ladd had come from Iowa). Ladd laid out sections that would become central business district and residential neighborhoods today: Northpointe subdivision off State Road 169E into which he donated most of his property; Harbor Heights section bounded by First Avenue West and Superior Avenue NW; Southpointe section between Superior Avenue NW and Interstate 95W; and finally Sunrise Boulevard NE off I-95W acrossfrom Target Field into which he donated much more property than those originally laid out—namely, Central Park BlocksNW along with many acres extending inland along Superior Avenue Northwest towards Eagle Lake before being renamed Harbor Heights after being annexed by Sunrise Boulevard NE in 1998 as part as result development efforts for Target Field redevelopment plans known as "Target Harbour". The community name change did not occur until AFTER Target Field redevelopment efforts were complete as it was determined that all original city namesakes were ceded or given away during this time period including Apple Valley which became Crystal City while Northpointe became Timberwolves Row following purchase by Sam Ullman & Co., developers announced November 3rd 1999 - days before their final zoning application deadline On July 15th 1906 at 10 am local time an explosion occurred at Red Rock mine owned by Jens Jensen & Sons Ltd.,(now Vale Resources) situated northwest side just southwest corner state road 169 east about ten miles northwest Fredericktownsdof Minnesotan state highway 97 deep shaft #2mining claim belonging to Moberg Bros.(now MN Mining) blasting using high pressure water jetting caused extensive damage3minutes later company officials arrived with relief supplies including generators4unseen men working underground continued work without stop until reported missing 5 personnel responsible have never been apprehended
Shoreview is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It was incorporated on November 2, 1858, and named for Edwin A. Shore, an early settler who built a log cabin there. The city was renamed Shoreview after the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863 when it became part of the Union army's attempt to drive Confederate forces out of Pennsylvania. The city had a population of 52 people as of the 2010 census[2].
