The post-war boom began when many new businesses were brought over from Sweden and Denmark during the 1950s through 1960s; thus making Shoreview an important bedroom community for central Minnesota. However, growth eventually stalled during the 1970s due to increased commuting costs associated with larger metropolitan areas such as Minneapolis-Saint Paul and decentralized zoning regulations which favored high-density development near public transportation stops instead of rural homes or commercial corridors. The current economic situation has been positive since 2007 when developers made an investment in creating new housing developments that are anchored around Interstate 94/Route 55 between neighbouring cities Stroudsburg and West Allis; this has resulted in jobs and tax revenues flowing into Shoreview Village which has allowed it to maintain much of its affordable housing stock while also providing more vibrant retail options than ever before For all these reasons shorewoodians are proud to call their home!

By 1940, Shoreline hadgrown to over 50,000 people and its economy was significantly diversified with several significant companies headquartered there including United States Steel Corporation (USSC), Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company (NMLI), Minneapolis-St Paul Air National Guard Base (MSP Aircap), Ryder Truck Lines Inc., Northrop Grumman Corporation (NORTHROP), Sears Roebuck & Co., First Energy Corporation (FE) and Wabasha Landfill Incorporated (WAL).
