Shoreview is a town in Clearwater County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 921 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Area and is located on the shore of Lake Minnetonka. Shoreview is also one of two towns in Minnesota that are both incorporated as villages. The original settlers in Shoreview were farmers, mechanics, and other working people from eastern Minnesota who arrived during the gold rush period in 1859. They built a small community around their farmstead on what is now Shoreview Road and cleared land for farming using methods such as plowing and harrowing that had been used by Native Americans for centuries. The first post office was established in 1861, and the first store opened in 1865. In 1870, a school was built; it became an all-day high school in 1954. During World War II, Shoreview served as an airfield for the United States military during its involvement in the European Theater of Operations (ETO). During these years there were also several businesses conducted atshore including boatbuilding and fishing along with many naval stores ashore which supported American forces engaged in war effort overseas. In 1955, Shoreline Selectman Harry Fenton proposed to his wife Nellie that they form a village within the town limits of Clearwater County to provide better services for residents while still remaining within its boundaries; this proposal was accepted by Shorley's Board of Trustees soon after thanks to support from local citizens like Mrs. Fenton who saw great potential for Villagehood when it came to providing new opportunities for growth within our community north of downtown Minneapolis-St Paul! The initial plans called for Villagehood to have its own police force; however due to budget restraintsVillagehood instead elected to work collaboratively with nearby municipalities throughshared services agreements/ arrangements like fire protection patrols etc... This type of organizational model has since become popular among communities across America as it allows communities more flexibility when it comes time to fund or expands services while still allowing them autonomy when appropriate! After much deliberation over whether or not to name their new village "Shoreline" (due primarily to shipyards located closeby) board members decided against naming their village after any particular body of water as they felt that would be too limiting( we could only name our new village after Star Wars characters soooo...) However some brave souls decided to go ahead with this idea anyways so everyone can get closure on darnit!!!!! Thanks again everyone who helped make our little town into something amazing!!!

The town also became known for its fireworks displays during summertime. After World War II ended, Shoreview experienced rapid decline as many residents left for other parts of the country or returned to their old jobs in non-defense industries. By 1971, only fifty people lived in Shoreview and it has since declined again with median household income below $30,000. Today, there is only one store remaining in town and it is closed most days due to lack of customers or competition from nearby towns with similar populations.
