Shoreview, Minnesota is home to the world’s only firearm t-shirt factory. The town was founded in 1898 by Finnish immigrants who set up a small textile mill in what is now the heart of Shoreview. The town became known for itsgunnery and shotgun manufacturing industry which continues to thrive today. The gunnery and shotguns production industry in Shoreview was responsible for building many of the firearms that are used around the world today. The Gunnery Shirt Factory was established in 1898 by Finnish immigrants who settled in Shoreview, MN. This industry produced firearm shirt products from 1898 until 1978. During this time, the company employed over 100 people and produced over 2 million shirts. Today, the Gunnery Shirt Factory still produces firearms shirt products as a part of their business operations. The factory has been closed for several years but is currently being renovated and will reopen soon.

The first firearm-related clothing store on the shores of Lake Superior was opened in Shoreview, Minnesota by two entrepreneurs in 1911. The shop sold rifles and shotguns, and also distributed ammunition. In 1916, the town of Shorewood established a police department and began selling Firearms Licenses to residents. In 1926, the VFW Post #542 in Shorewood organized a rifle range for local citizens. In 1936, the first handgun license was issued in Shorewood. In 1945, a gunsmith opened his business at 6th Street and Superior Avenue in Shoreview. This shop manufactured firearms including Thompson submachine guns, Browning pistols and shotguns. In 1951, a pool hall opened on South Congress Avenue in Shorewood which served as the town's only source of gambling until 1967 when casino gambling became available in Shorewood through new legislation passed by the State Legislature. In 1961, a grocery store was established at 9th Street and Superior Avenue in Shorewood which continued to operate until 1986 when it closed due to economic difficulties within the community. On October 24, 1987 an amendment to US Code Title 18 were made that allowed anyone who has been convicted of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or firearm (a crime committed with intent to commit murder) with no prior criminal record to buy or possess any firearm without having theretofore obtained an approved Federal Firearms License (FFL). The amendment went into effect on November 1st 1987
Shoreview is a town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,826 at the 2010 census. The name "Shoreview" is derived from the Ojibwe word "sha'wiak," meaning "distant view." The first settler in Shoreview was George Weninger and his family in 1855. The town was platted in 1859 by John A. Hennepin and named after an overlook on the White River that overlooked what would become Shoreline Township. In 1860, Anna Ladd purchased of land east of shoreline for $200 and laid out a town center around her home which she called Laddstown. In 1865, the Ulysses S. Grant Administration established Fort Snelling on the river's edge to protect settlers who had fled violence in Missouri during the American Civil War. In 1870, residents of Laddstown petitioned for incorporation as a city; however, their request was denied because no other communities were proposed to be twinned with Shoreview. On January 1, 1888 (the day following Minnesota's admission into the Union as a state), Shoreline became a separate township under territorial government after voters approved an amendment to the State Constitution granting it this status within five years of its creation. In 1902-03 when Minneapolis-St Paul annexed most of Ramsey County including Shoreline Township, Mayor Harry Janssen lobbied hard for its annexation so that more businesses could be placed within central Minneapolis with access to public transportation. However, despite repeated requests from City Hall Deputy Director Earl Davenport and representatives from several dozen businesses located throughout downtown Minneapolis - all testifying before county commissioners - annexation never occurred due to objections from then-Governor Jesse Ventura.. Shoreview, Minnesota is a small town in the United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is located in Saint Louis County. Shoreview was founded in 1857 by General James K. Polk and his family on a freshwater island in the river that now forms the border between Dakota and Ramsey counties. The town's first store opened in 1858, and it became an important center for grain shipping out of the area. In 1886, Shoreview voted to annex what are now Sioux County and Ramsey County, making it one of the few U.S. towns to do so without first winning approval from their respective governments. The town continued to grow rapidly during the late 19th century and into the early 20th century; by 1920, Shoreview had more than 2,000 residents and a school system with 16 schools. By 1930, however, its growth had slowed due to competition from larger communities around it. After World War II ended, ShoreVIEW again grew rapidly; by 1970 its population had reached 3,500 residents and it boasted a high school system with 24 schools total (15 public/10 private). However during this time of rapid growth there were also some negative consequences: water shortages led to reduced crop production which caused social unrest; air pollution made life difficult for locals living near factories while affording no benefits to those further away; land values skyrocketed as developers bought up much ofshoreland ; ethnic diversity increased as businesses catering specifically to Polish-American customers arrived ; crime rates rose as drug dealers moved into town ; but overall these developments have not posed a major threat to Shoreview's continuing success since then Despite these challenges though there has been progress made since the late 1990s when community involvement began waning among elected officials- most notably when Mayor Verna Heineman retired after serving two terms (she would later serve as regional director for MNsure). In the early 1820s, a group of farmers in Shoreview began to build a home on what is now the corner of Avenue and County Road. The first house was built by John Johnson and named after his son-in-law, Samuel G. Shaw. In 1824, another family, the Kileys, erected a cottage on what is now Boulevard. In 1830, Captain James Fenton purchased land at what is now Shoreview and started to build a ranch there. By 1840, he had developed 7 acres of land at Shoreview into two separate towns: Shoreview (later renamed Minneapolis) and Farmington. On November 15th of that year, Minnesota statehood was granted to Minnesota by Ulysses S. Grant in an act he signed as President of the United States. On December 6th of that year, both Shoreview and Farmington were made part of Minneapolis City Limits. The city limits grew further when they annexed portions of Hastings County in 1851 and 1857 respectively. In 1872, the Great Northern Railway arrived in Minneapolis with its first train from Chicago via Duluth; it quickly became one of the city's most important economic engines with its depot located near Hillwood Avenue on Nicollet Island across from Lake Minnetonka . Over time this area would be known as "The Loop" because it housed all sorts of businesses operating within easy walking distance including several banks and department stores along Nicollet Mall which still stands today! The area around University Avenue between Nicollet Mall and State Street was demolished in 1960 for construction of Interstate 94 but some remnant remains can still be seen today including several large parking lots previously occupied by local grocery stores!
