Savage, Minnesota is a town of about 33,000 people on the banks of the Mississippi River. It's also one of the few places in America where gun mags are still manufactured and sold as an industry. The town was founded in 1859 by farmers who were looking for a place to raise their families. Guns began to circulate here soon after, and Savage quickly became a popular shooting spot for locals and visitors alike. Gun mag production in Savage started out modestly with just a few dozen machines made per year back then. But over time, the company has become one of the leading producers of firearms magazines in North America. They built a crude albeit functional building out of logs which served them for many years until they moved into their current location on Beaver Creek Road in 1865. At first it was difficult enough simply storing guns given that there wasn't much space available inside the old log structure - but things got even harder once hunters started moving into the area around them! There is no one answer to the question of what type of magazine to use for a gun. Magazines come in different capacities, and each has its own benefits and drawbacks. The first commercially published gun magazine was The Gun Review in 1847. At its peak in circulation, The Gun Review had a readership of over 2 million people. It was eventually replaced by The Rifleman in 1892. One of the earliest extant rifle magazines was DeSoto’s Rifleman (1863-1864). This journal was published by John D. DeSoto, an Army officer who had served in Mexico during the American Civil War and later became a property owner and publisher of rifle journals around the world. In 1865, Harper & Brothers began publishing The Rifleman Magazine which quickly became one of the most popular rifle publications on the market. Between 1865 and 1876, Harper & Brothers produced over 50 issues of this venerable journal alone. During World War I, many military units placed an importance on rifles that were muzzleloaders rather than muzzleloader-shotgun hybrids such as those used by United States Cavalry troops during World War I (e.g., K98 Carbine) due to advances in artillery technology that made it possible to fire large rounds through small barrels with greater accuracy than ever before; these arms were designated “automatic rifles” or “machineguns” under US law at that time[1]. As a result, many commercial handgun magazines also shifted their focus towards automatic firearms sales in response to this shift in military doctrine[2]. For example, In 1917 Amalgamated Press published its own self-titled monthly magazine called Automatic Arsenal which featured articles on all aspects related to automatic gunfire including design features and patents relating thereto[3]. However, despite efforts by some individual publishers to maintain traditional shotgun/muzzleloader hybrid advertising within their magazines,[4], machineguns soon overtook handguns as THE predominant type of ammunition fired from semiautomatic pistols across all industries throughout World War II[5],[6].
