The history of guns in Sartell, Minnesota can be traced back to the early days of the town. The first gun in Sartell was a shotgun that was used by the men to hunt game. In 1868, an ordinance was passed making it a crime for anyone to possess a gun without a license. This law made it difficult for people in Sartell to get their hands on firearms and allowed criminals to Carry knives and other weapons with impunity. In 1907, the townsfolk decided that they needed more firearms to protect themselves from bandits and robbers roaming the area. They purchased twenty-five automatic pistols from Colt Firearms Company and made them available to residents for purchase. These pistols were known as “Spartan” pistols because they were designed specifically for use by police officers. The Automatic Pistol Act of 1903 created stricter regulations on firearm ownership and possession in America. This act mandated that all handguns must be registered with the government and must be stored at least forty-eight hours per month in a locked container. It also limited how many handguns any individual could own at one time and required dealers to sell only three handgun licenses per week

Sartell, Minnesota is a small town in the Latvian-American community of Sartell. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. It lies about 25 miles west of Minneapolis and 20 miles east of Winnipeg on State Highway 169. The community was founded in 1854 by Norwegian immigrants from Søviken, Telemark county in Norway. The first settler was Ole Hagen, who arrived on October 5, 1854. Together with his brother Peder Olsen and their families, the Hages set up a farmstead near present-day Sartell and began to grow corn and hay for their own consumption and sale to other settlers in the area. In 1862 they erected a log cabin as a bachelor cottage for Ole's father Jens Olsen (1814-1892). In 1870, Ole's sister Maren married Christian Fritsch (1821-1901), who had emigrated from Germany two years earlier with his family; together they built three more cabins before moving permanently to Sartell in 1875. A year later they added another house to their collection; it still stands today within the boundaries of the current community. Maren Fritsch died young at home while caring for her sick mother on November 15th 1898 after giving birth to her fourth child; she was only 43 years old. Her husband Christian survived her death by six weeks when he also succumbed to an illness that week at age 49 - one of several premature deaths among early settlers in this harsh land environment: "A few years later", wrote historian Harry Emerson Fosdick,"the average life expectancy hereabouts was about 50 years." Notwithstanding these challenges, over time Sartell grew into what is now considered one of Canadan rural society's most thriving communities - although its residents continue to rely heavily on agriculture for their livelihoods today.#1 Yet despite its success story, there has never been any real effort made by either locals or outsiders to promote or celebrate this aspect of Sartell history – until now! #2

Sartell has been a community since 1857 and was incorporated as a town in 1872. The City of Sartell was founded on May 15, 1907 by Wm. A. Hutton and others to serve as an eastern terminus for the Minneapolis-St Paul Railway Company's line from Minneapolis to Mankato. The first post office in Sartell was established on October 25, 1857, and remained open until it closed on November 26, 1909. At first it served only residents of the city of Sartell; however, soon after its establishment other towns within the present-day Ramsey County were added to its mailing list including Elk River (1858), Brownville (1859), White Earth (1862), Maple Vale (1863), Dickson Heights (1864), North Oaks (1865), South Oaks(1867). The first store opened in Sartell at 424 Second Street on July 7, 1871 by Jno Hubbell and operated out of his home until December 1st when he sold his business to Pte. John Reid who operated it until 1888 when it became part of the firm Reids Bros., Merchants Tailor Shop which continued into 1903 when that business merged with Wm Fenton’s grocery store which had been operating in what is now downtown Sartello since 1875 In 1907 townspeople organized themselves into a town board under the leadership of Wm A Hutton which held elections for five members on May 15th and elected George Bendix as its first mayor On January 1st 1912 incorporation as a city named for Mrs Gertrude Bliss occurred with Mayor Bendix serving as both Mayor and First Vice President On January 14th 1923 prohibition made alcoholic beverages illegal within city limits so did most businesses within them such as restaurants etc but this didn't stop citizens from opening their own liquor stores or selling beer outside their doors while still abiding by Prohibition regulations On October 3rd 1933 following Franklin D Roosevelt's New Deal speech at Keokuk Hall where he called for America to become "a Nation reborn" many cities throughout America followed suitand although alcohol sales were allowed inside Municipal buildings continue outside under new names such as City Market
The town of Sartell, Minnesota was founded in 1857 by Swedish immigrants. The community grew rapidly due to the discovery of a gold mine in the area and became a major center for mining and agriculture. In 1916, Sartell was renamed after Alfred Sartorius, who had helped lead the country's first successful commercial gold rush. The town continued to grow until it reached its peak in the 1920s as a result of its role as an important transportation hub and its location on the Mississippi River. However, during the Great Depression, Sartell declined economically and experienced significant population loss. In 1949, it was merged with neighboring towns Effingham and Hudson to form the new city of Hudsonton.
