On March 1, 1907, Sartell had its first baby born – Lillian Elizabeth Hickey – by Cæsar Ewing at his home. In 1909, access to water supplies began flowing through town when Minnehaha Dam was built downstream from town. On November 12th 1915 local voters passed an ordinance establishing a fire department which served as the village's primary law enforcement agency until 1971 when police services were transferred to Ramsey County. ] ; however only 6 remain extant today including three that are operated by volunteers: Albright's Store (opened 1888), Snelling's Antiques & Gifts (opened 1957), and Gopher Prairie Grain Exchange (opened 1941). Of those six businesses only three have been continuously open since 1945. During World War II more than 3600 workers produced materials needed for military production such as tires, engines, bridges etc;[citation needed] however none lived or worked close by where they could be summoned if necessary.< br /> After World War II many people left or moved away because economic conditions changed so much; however some stayed behind like farmers Tom Bueling and his family who raised crops on their property until 1985 when they sold it to developer Rick Hendrick< br /> Today there are just over 2 dozen residents living in Sarrattel though most residents commute into downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul.Population growth rates : From 2000 through 2010

Sartell is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located on the east side of the Mississippi River. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area and is one of five towns in Ramsey County that are considered part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The first settler in Sartell was John Sartell, who arrived there on July 12, 1847, with his family. In 1851, Arent Noyes built a log cabin at what is now Main Street and Sartelle Avenue. By 1860, there were ten families living in Sartell Township. The first store was built near what is now Third Street and First Avenue in 1865 by Jens Olsen & Son. In 1870, land was bought from Andrew McNamara for $2 an acre to build a sawmill and flour mill on Second Street between Lyndale Boulevard and Third Avenue; this mill became known as Sartell Mills Incorporated (now Gambrills). In 1876-77, Julius Schnetz published the paper "Sarteller's Weekly" which raised money for local charities In 1886 lumber baron Nelson Waddington donated 8 acres (3 hectares) along Lyndale Boulevard east of Main Street to create what is now Millennium Park; this land served as the nucleus for modern day SARTELL village center development In 1902 Minnesota State Highway 2 (MN 2) was designated through centralMinnesota to run concurrent with MN 1 from Fargo to Duluth; this made it possible for farmers within centralMinnesota to sell their goods into cities such as Minneapolis-St., Paul In 1907 real estate developer Charles Lueders donated 9 acres (4 hectares) south of Main Street where he had planned to construct a resort called CLUEVY FARMING AND TOURIST RESORT; but due to flooding caused by severe thunderstorms in November 1907CLUEVY FARMING AND TOURIST RESORT never came into operation On December 3rd 1909 Jens Olsen enacted an ordinance giving residents voting rights which helped spur development around Main Street After World War I when Prohibition began lasting until 1933 beer became available again throughout mostof America so people started buying liquor again insteadof importing it from Europe where alcohol had been banned since 1692}; however because prohibition violated trade regulations many American breweries closed their doors during these years;; therefore some old brick buildings downtown still stand that once housed several American breweries including Pabst Brewing Company
