Roseville is a town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 7,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to explore and map the area were two Swedish traders, Peder Jacobsen and Magnus Nordenfelt, in 1825. They named their discovery "Roseville" after Russia's Rose Garden near Moscow. The first European settlers in what is now Roseville arrived during the 1830s by way of Dakota Territory under United States authority following Winnebago War (1831), when Minnesota became a territory of Illinois Territory. In 1837, David Haigh founded a trading post on Big Rock Prairie east of present-day Roseville; it was known as Haigh's Fort until 1840 when it was renamed for him by Ulysses S. Grant during the American Civil War as Fort Snelling. In 1862, during the American Civil War (1861– 1865), rose up against Confederate forces along the Mississippi River valley around present-day Minneapolis/Saint Paul; battle lines were drawn near present-day Roseville between Unionists and Confederates with skirmishes taking place there on several occasions before ultimate victory at Appomattox Court House four months later brought an end to hostilities in that region. At various times over ensuing years other settlements were established or destroyed within what is now Roseville limits: Hennepin Township west of town in 1858; Maple Grove Township north of town in 1860; and White Earth Township east of town in 1868 – all preceding towns consolidation into Ramsey County following statehood in 1907). The late 1800s were especially conducive to agriculture due to ample water supplies from nearby rivers and land grants from President James Kappler including 6 square miles (15 km²) located just south of present-day downtownroseville on Red Lake which furnished most people with their livelihoods through irrigation systems well into this century.. By 1910 about 60%of residents engaged primarily farming while 30%employed some form of manufacturing or services such as construction or retail trade.. Manufacturing increased significantly with gradual addition of heavy industry like automobiles and airplane parts starting World War II but petroleums began arriving soon thereafter making these operations more prevalent thereafter.. Starting around 1950 many small businesses closed up shop due to competition from larger companies acrosstown–a trend that has continued through recent decades.. Today many residents are employed primarily by service providers such as health care professionals and administrative support employees who provide goods and services for local buildings rather than farm production

Roseville is a town in Roman Catholic County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,049 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. Roseville was founded in 1856 and named for Saint Rosemarie of Hungary. The first settler in Roseville was Nicholas Juhlman, who arrived on horseback from Russia in 1857. He store started up on Main Street and soon began to trade goods with settlers throughout the county. In 1865, John Friesen arrived from Norway and homesteaded near present-day Interstate 94 and Highway 10. That year also saw the founding of Stonington Lutheran Church which served as the first church in what would become Roseville.Over time, other churches were established here including Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel (1912), Holy Rosary Parish (1921), Immaculate Conception Parish (1967), Sacred Heart Parish (1973) and Stationsoft Catholic Church (1994). In 1916, a fire destroyed most of the original buildings in downtown Roseville but not before a group of citizens had gathered to rebuild what would come to be known as "the city." That same year saw also when River Falls Dam was completed downstream from town creatingLake Vermilion which gaveRoseville its name; however it wasn't until after World War II that development really picked up around this location with businesses opening up along I-94 corridor such as Ace Hardware & Tire Center(1964), McDonalds(1968), First National Bank(1970), KFC(1991) and Target(1998). In recent years there has been much redevelopment taking place within town limits with many new homes being built along I-94 corridor as well as several large grocery stores closing down or moving outtaattown altogether leaving numerous empty storefronts across the city center . While some residents have voiced concerns about gentrification/ displacement /accessibility issues unfoldingwithin town limits over recent years there seems to be general consensus amongst local officials that overall things are proceeding fairly smoothly despite some challenges posed by rapid population growth& changesover time
Roseville was founded in 1881 by John C. Dickey and his wife, Sarah H. Dickey. The original town site was on the east bank of the Mississippi River about midway between Minneapolis and St. Paul. After a few years, the couple decided to move their business to Roseville so they could get a better view of the river from their home. In 1885, the first store in Roseville opened its doors. The town's growth continued apace during the late 19th century and into the early 20th century as new businesses cropped up all over Minnesota: meatpacking plants, breweries (including Anheuser-Busch), chemical plants, lumberyards, textile mills...the list goes on and on! In 1915, when World War I started, Roseville became an important staging area for troops moving across the Great Lakes region. By 1917 it had reached its population peaks at around 100 residents; however, by 1921 census figures show that only 41 people lived there permanently! During World War II, roseVILLE again saw some activity as war materials were brought in from overseas; however, this time it wasn't nearly as pronounced as it had been during previous wars. The population peaked at 154 in 1940 but then declined gradually until 1960 when it decreased to 101 residents living there permanently according to census records! However despite this reduction in population size during peacetime alike - overall - Roseville managed to maintain its status as one of Minnesota's most vibrant communities throughout much of recent history!
