The Robbinsdale Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in Robbinsdale, Minnesota in 1907. The club enjoyed a long and successful history until it disbanded in 1984. In that year, the club's archives were donated to the University of Minnesota Historical Society and have been preserved ever since. One of the most significant events during the club's history was its championship victory at an NRA convention in 1911. That year, the Robbinsdale Rifle & Pistol Club won first place at a NRA convention for the first time in their history. In 1912, they also placed second at another NRA convention. This success led to several more championships before disbanding again in 1984; however, their archived materials are still available to view today at the University ofMinnesota Historical Society. It is interesting to note that while many firearms clubs disband when their members reach retirement age or when they cease operations due to lack of membership or funding, this is not always true with rifle & pistol clubs. For example, the Hutchinson Rifle & Pistol Club will continue operation until 2021 after having been active for over 100 years!

Robbinsdale is a town located in the Hibiscus Hills region of Minnesota, United States. It was founded in 1881 by Nathan Robbins and his wife, Emma. The population was 12 at the 2010 census. The town is named after General John A. Robbins, who fought in the American Civil War and later served as a U.S. Congressman from Minnesota's 1st congressional district. The first residents of Robbinsdale were farmers who grew corn, wheat and other crops on their properties near the intersection of County Roads 6 and 9W. In 1881, Nathan Robbins moved his family to what is now the eastern edge of town. He land grant awarded him included 2 miles (3 km) of present-day Cook Road, which became known as Robbinsville Road when it was platted adjacent to his farmstead in 1885. In 1892, Levi Ziegler bought some land east of Robbinsdale from Jno Pohlman for $1 per acre (0.50 ha). This area became known as Ziegler Park today and forms one block north of the current town hall complex on First Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue North (). Ziegler had been interested in purchasing land for a school but never did so until he died in 1902; however, due to lack of funds he never built one(). In 1903, local businessmen John Wadleigh (1862-1937), Harland Dorman (1868-1947), Cyrus Hargrave (1876-1965) and Clarence Condon purchased 320 acres (12 km²) east of Robbinsdale from Jno Pohlman for $5 per acre (.25 ha). This area became known as Condon Park (.875 hectares). In 1905 they donated an additional 160 acres (.49 ha) to the township which became known as Condon Township Park (). “[T]he generous gift aroused emulation among friends who were creating townships all over America... each new township would begrant lots freehold or sell them back to its founders at cost price... Robbinsdale was founded in 1854 by George Robbins, a farmer and lumberman. The town grew rapidly, and by 1871 it had a population of over 1,000 people. The town was named after George Robbins' father, who also founded the town. Robbinsdale became a city in 1907 and continued to grow quickly until it reached its current size.
