A post office called Richfeldt had been established in 1865 but was discontinued due to lack of customers when rail service arrived in 1870. Ender Carlson started farming there around 1880 which led to construction on what is now downtownRichfeldt beginning around 1888; although most buildings date only to after World War II or after incorporation into nearby municipalities such as Thief River Falls (1948), Maplewood (1953), and New Prague (1957). After World War II ended, some manufacturers began producing chokes specifically designed for hunting animals such as deer or sheep instead of just military applications. These Ultra- Lite chokes were often much less expensive than traditional rifle chokes and allowed hunters to shoot larger animals with ease without having to worry about muzzle blast or noise issues!
