The first post office was established at Prior Lake in 1884; it closed in 1906 because mail carried by horseback couldn't be delivered due to heavy snowfall during that year's winter. In 1907, prior to statehood, PriorLake had two schools: one for white children and one for colored children; both were operated by local churches. In 1912, school District No. 1 erected a high school building which replaced an earlier schoolhouse that had been destroyed by a fire; district No2 also constructed a Normal School Annex Building which served as their high school from 1916 until 1954 when it became Central High School (now Wright State University). Aftermath of World War II led to rapid growth withinPriorLake - in 1945 there were 9 homes with occupants and 26 businesses with employees; today there are over 150 residences and businesses operating withinPriorLake limits alone! In 1955, District 2 erected its own high school building - this time serving all residents within its jurisdiction instead of only those residing withinDistrict 2 boundaries (the original district boundary did not include present day PriorLake). District 2 also constructed their own football stadium which would serve as home field for their team until 1984 when they moved to Central High School (Wright State University) adjacent to current day Interstate 94/ 55 interchange eastbound lanes across I-94/ 55 main street! Today Stadium Park serves as home field for the men’s basketball and wrestling programs while Main Street Arena hosts various other events including concerts throughout the year!
