After several unsuccessful attempts, these men finally arrived in Plymouth on March 9, 1858 with three goods totaling $5 worth of goods - flour, pork products, and nails - as part of a group led by Captain James Hennepin. Plymouth, Minnesota is a small town in the heart of the Dakota Territory, located on the north side of the Missouri River. The town was founded in 1881 by James P. White and his wife, Susannah, as a result of the Sioux War. Plymouth had an estimated population of 150 people in 1890. By 1920, Plymouth had shrunk to just 10 residents due to changes in its economy and social demographics. The first settlement in Plymouth was made on March 3, 1881 by James P. White and his wife Susannah when they arrived from Iowa with their family for the post-Civil War buffalo hunt. The settlers named their new community after English porttown Plympton on Lake Ontario where they had been living during their military service back east. As time passed, other settlers joined them at Plymouth and it rapidly grew into a small farming community with a population of around 50 people in 1890 census data. In 1912, Plymouth hosted one of the first summer camps known as "Summer School". This event served as an important meeting ground for regional politics and First Nation issues during that era. It also served as an opportunity for children from all over North America to come together and learn about life on the reservations down south while having fun playing outdoors under tent conditions. During World War I, Plymouth played host to many soldiers who were billeted there while they were garrisoned along the banks of the Missouri River adjacent to Fort Snelling (later Minneapolis). The town also offered food storage facilities for troops stationed there as well as services such as laundering uniforms and providing drinking water for troops stationed nearby at Camp Randall (now Minneapolis-St Paul). Many veterans returned home once hostilities ended and many businesses closed because wartime economies weren't sustainable without demand from military personnel barracks nearby or from consumers who couldn't afford necessary goods produced outside of war zones like Detroit or Milwaukee .
