Businesses also opened up throughout town thanks to improved transportation options available thanks to railroad construction near by! In 1915, Pioneer Day was celebrated here with an event including parade down Main Street followed by a picnic at Park Landing Site! In 1951, when Hennepin County merged with other counties within Minnesota (including Dakota Territory), Plymouth become part of newly formed Hennepin County – making it one of only four townships within its boundaries! The same year also saw Plymouth's incorporation as a city when City Council approved resolutions granting city status to all towns within Ramsey County without having first been granted township status (the township system had been abolished statewide two years earlier). In 1916, Prohibition caused Great Lakes shipping traffic on the Mississippi River to slowdown; during this time Plympton became known for producing high quality illegal liquor for export from Canada and other parts of America. The first good news story about Plympton happened on May 20th 1840 when three men named John Browning came ashore looking for a place where they could farm[2][3]. They found no land but shared some resources with nearby Indians before moving on again soon afterwards.
