When settlers first arrived in Plymouth, Minnesota in 1854, they brought with them their love of firearms. Soon, the area was filled with gunsmiths and dealers who sold rifles, shotguns and pistols to the local farmers and hunters. The guns were used for hunting deer, elk and other game in the area and also for protection from Indians. Many of these pioneer firearms still reside today in storage or are on display at various museums around the state. Gunsmithery was a very important business in early Plymouth. In fact, it was one of the few businesses that survived when the town was burned down by Native Americans in 1862. Gunsmiths continued to ply their trade even after the evacuation because there were no other options available to them. It is interesting to note that many of these old-time guns still exist today as Historical Firearms Museum pieces. During World War II, Plymouth became an important strategic location due to its proximity to Minneapolis and its ability to provide munitions and supplies needed by both sides during the war effort. This gave rise to a significant amount of gunpowder production activity within town limits as well as a number of firearm manufacturing companies which produced items such as machineguns, artillery pieces and mortar rounds. After the war ended, most of these companies folded or went out of business but one remained – Western Arms Corporation – which remains operational today (since 1968) providing ATF with firearm services including background checks for employees!

These types of firearms tend not be as accurate as traditional shotguns or handguns though so make sure you have plenty of practice before trying this kind of weapon in real life situations!
