Otsego, Minnesota is a small town in the northwestern corner of Minnesota. It was founded in 1857 by Norwegian immigrants and has been part of the United States since its admission to full membership in 1959. The Otsego County Courthouse and jail are both located in Otsego, as is the state Capitol. The history of firearms clothing begins with the introduction of firearms to Otsego County in 1857. That year, Norwegian immigrant Sverre Aasgaard purchased a shotgun from John W. Hettinger for $5. He used it to shoot ducks on his property near present-day Otsego Lake. In 1865, Aasgaard married Anna Karenina Pohlman and they moved to Otsega Township where they started a farmstead that later became known as Pohlman Farmstead No. 2. In 1868, Sverre Aasgaard died suddenly at age 73 years old and his wife took over management of their farmstead and shotguns business which continued until her death in 1901. In 1899, Maud Dickey purchased land southeast of present-day Otsego Lake from Sverre Aasgaard’s widow Anna Karenina Pohlman for $10 per acre under the homesteading act of 1898 (Pohlman Act). Dickey began developing her land into what is now known as Dickey Park east of present-day downtown OTSEGO village limits. On July 1, 1907, Dickey Park was designated an open space by the Minnesota State Legislature pursuant to an act entitled “An Act To Promote Recreation Amongst Citizens Living Within Its Limits” (Laws 1907 Ch 792). As part of this designation process, all future developments within park boundaries were required to submit plans that included a description or map showing all property lines and any proposed improvements including roads or garages necessary for operation or residence purposes within said boundaries (Minnesota Statutes Ann., § 169A). On February 15, 1909, local farmer George Kessel bought 100 acres west ofpresent day downtown OTSEGO village limits from Mrs.(?)(?), who had offered it him free if he could build a barn on it using lumber he had stockpiled during prohibition some time prior (Kessel Act § 5).[1] Kessel put up one story wood frame barn on his parcel which served as his home until 1971 when it was destroyed by fire[2]. Prior to its destruction, Kessel’s Barn was also one of only two remaining structures associated with early firearm clothing production in OTSEGO County[3]. The other structure was likely built by local blacksmith Julius Hageman around 1870 following receipt of Government Land at 8th Street & McLeod Ave., northwest cornerof current day Springvale Avenue & Highway 61.[4] The first documented reference to firearms clothing appears in an article entitled “Otter Tail Gun Club Vests For Working Men Which Will Be Of Heavy Duty And Last Many Years” published October 12th 1913 issue of The MinnPost newspaper [5]. In that article written by Elisha Grayden – then editor/publisher – describe how members will be able use their new vestes while hunting game animals along with protection against chills due severe cold weather conditions: We have just received our order for guns and ammunition from Minneapolis through our quarters there being many orders already placed at different points throughout this State; we are going ahead very rapidly getting these things ready for shipment out before Christmas….We will soon have everything we need for working men….. finally I want you all to remember that we do not sell arms commercially but simply provide gun clothes services solely for shooting purposes only………I am sure you will find these articles most satisfactory

Otsego, Minnesota is a small town in the southern region of Minnesota. The population was 4,813 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Otsego County and one of the largest villages in that county. The name "Otsego" is most likely derived from an Algonquin word meaning "place where chickens coop." The first Europeans to visit what is now Otsego County were French traders who passed through in 1684. The first permanent settler in what is now Otsego County was John Doane, who arrived about 1825. He built a cabin on the east side of present-day Otsego Lake. Doane's cabin remains standing and can be visited today. Other early settlers included Hennepin County residents John Lyon and James Armstrong; farm defenseman Elijah Redford; and David Jarvis, also known as “Davy” or “Doc” Jarvis. In 1854, Oglethorpe Township was organized from portions ofRenville and Leslie Counties. In 1868, Renville County became part of Minnesota Territory; however, it remained part of Hennepin County until 1889 when it became part of otter Tail County. In 1911, Renville and Leslie counties were combined into Otter Tail County before being split again in 1912 into Renville and Ramsey Counties (renamed Otter Tail again in 1990). In 1917, the United States entered World War I; as a result, many people left their homes for war-related reasons during 1918-1919. Many farms around here were destroyed by fire during that time period because there weren't any firefighters available to help out with extinguished fires licketysplit style! This event marked one of the beginnings for volunteer firefighter groups like MAC station #2 which still meets monthly to this day! Voters chose to switch from Republican to Democratic control over local government following World War II due largely to concerns about skyrocketing taxes brought on by wartime military activity (particularly aerial bombing). Otsego, Minnesota is a small town located in thecentral area of the state of Minnesota. The population was 5,890 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area. Otsego has been inhabited by Native Americans for over two hundred years and it is one of only a few settlements withinacing sixty miles of Minneapolis-Saint Paul. The first white settlers arrived in 1858 and founded a post office called "Turtle Lake." The first store opened in 1860 and the first school opened in 1870. In 1881, Otsego became a city and was renamed "Otsego." The city had a population of about fifty thousand when it merged with neighboring city "Hutchinson" to form the current metropolitan area. The history of Otsego begins with three Seminole Indians who lived there for several decades before they were forced to leave due to American Indian Removal Act (1854). They left behind their belongings, horses, donkeys, food, clothing and other items that would become centerpieceof local cultural heritage until recently. One such item was an Ojibwa Chief's lodge which still stands today on the edgeof town near Highway 20W between Main Street and County Road 252G (now called US-27). This site served as home to government meetings duringthe early days of settlement when otter hunting was an important source of revenue forthe new county courthouse being built on Main Street next door.
