The Otsego County Airgun Club was founded in 1951. The club has since grown to include over 100 members, all of whom are interested in airguns and the sport of shooting. The club meets monthly to share experiences, discuss topics, and shoot airguns. The club also offers shoots for children and adults, as well as a variety of educational opportunities for those who want to learn more about airguns. In addition to its regular meetings, the Otsego Airgun Club tries to hold at least one special meeting every year to celebrate some aspect of the sport or history associated with airguns.

The Otsego Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1905. The club participated in the NRA's first national meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1906. In 1911, they organized a rifle and pistol competition at the nearby community of Spring Valley. This event became known as the "Otsego Open".

Otsego, Minnesota is a small town located in the far north of the United States. The population was 553 at the 2010 census. It is named after Major John Otsego who served as a captain in the Union army during the American Civil War and died in battle. Otsego was founded by Norwegian immigrants in 1854 and remains one of America's oldest towns. The town has a rich history that can be found buried in its history books, such as its role in helping to form the state of Minnesota, as well as its connection to Norway. The town began as a donation from Norwegian farmers who were settled near Red Wing, Minnesota. In 1854, Captain John Otsego led an army against Confederate forces during the American Civil War. His death at Battle of Gettysburg helped to sparkMinnesota's creation and subsequent growth. According to historian Dr. David Hackett Fischer, "Captain Otsego had pulled off one ofthe great victory balls of our war." After his death, many Norwegians donated land for what would become OtseGOytown Hall and other buildings in town center today! Today, Otsegonians continue their tradition of volunteerism with local organizations like Americorps and Heartland Philanthropies working hard on various projects throughout the community including arts programs, child development initiatives, food pantries and more! Additionally, there are numerous festivals each year that bring people together from all over for music hall shows (Festival du Jour), agricultural demonstrations (Farmers' Market Day) and more!

In 1855, Otsego County was organized. The county seat was located in St. Cloud and it consisted of what is now the towns of Otsego, Hastings, and Westboro. In 1861, Thomas McNaught donated land to the Town of Otsego for a public library. The McNaught Library opened in 1865 and was the first library in Minnesota. In 1869, the first post office in Otsego County was established at present-day Hastings. In 1880, the first school in Otsego County was established at present-day Westboro. The population of Otsego County increased from about 1,000 people in 1850 to over 10,000 by 1860 thanks to waves of immigrants arriving during that decade: Germans ( numbering around 15 percent of all residents), Irish Catholics (around 25 percent), Scandinavians (10 percent), Poles (5 percent), East Indians (3 percent), and Blacks (1 percent). The growth continued through the 1870s as Ottawans started moving into rural areas outside of St. Cloud; many farmers turned out crops on their own plantations while others became involved with mining or lumbering industries. A new courthouse and jail were built between 1875 and 1886 within sight of present day Hastings when an influx of criminals pushed law enforcement out to other parts of town. By 1890, however, official records show that there were “no less than thirteen” justice courts operating throughout the county – most functioning as small businesses rather than providing statewide services like probate or criminal prosecutions which would have drawn large crowdsourcing resources from acrossMinnesota central government entities like the state government and its universities which would then offer prizes for excellence in judicial governance among their students who had learned about these types of civic responsibilities while studying for law degrees at these institutions).
