Oakdale, Minnesota is a small town located in the state of Minnesota. The population was 4,493 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Thief River Falls–Minn County Metropolitan Statistical Area. Oakdale's history goes back to 1851 when it was founded as a post office by A.F. Neuman and Wm. H. Stephenson. In 1880, Hennepin County was organized and Oakdale became its county seat. In 1911, the NBA formed in Minneapolis and Oakdale became an affiliate team with the Minneapolis Lakers (later renamed the LA Lakers). In 1951, President Harry S Truman named it "the City of Shooting Stars" in honor of American actress Shirley Temple who had starred in several movies set in or around Sioux Falls, South Dakota (where she grew up). Since then, many celebrities have been born or have lived here including: Tom Cruise, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donny Deutsch and more than 50 others who have played professional basketball or other sports on various teams here at one time or another including current Timberwolves head coach Rick Majerus and his predecessor Flip Saunders

Oakdale is a small town in the western Twin Cities region of Minnesota. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, about 15 miles west of Minneapolis and 10 miles east of St. Paul. The population was 7,564 at the 2010 census. The Oakdale post office was established in 1854, and remained in operation until it closed in 1985. The town was named for an oak tree that stood near the original village site. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Oakdale were farmers who arrived from Illinois in 1851. By 1865, most of the early settlers had left for other parts of Minnesota or Iowa due to hard times during the American Civil War. However, some families returned to Oakdale after Reconstruction and began farming again. In 1870, a school was erected on land donated by John Hargrave and his wife Sarah Atherton Hargrave. That same year also saw construction begin on a dam across the Mississippi River at present-day Maplewood (now Anoka). In 1875, Elmira Sells donated land east of town for a Methodist church which would eventually be built along First Street north of town. That same year saw annexation by Minneapolis as part of an agreement between that city and Cedar Rapids under which Cedar Rapids became responsible for all local government services within its boundaries apart from waterworks and sanitation functions within Minneapolis proper

Firearms rookies often learned how to use their pistols and rifles safely by practicing with dummy rounds. This practice helped them become better synchronized and effective shooters. The first effective shooting protection devices were invented by Colonel John Sinkford in 1868. His invention was the safety catchcock, which prevented the striker from striking the firing pin if it became trapped between two parts of the firearm’s action housing. The cocking handle also prevented accidental discharge of a gun while it was being carried or stored. In 1865, Captain George Armstrong developed an improved safety catchcock for his Browning automatic pistol that functioned similar to Sinkford’s device but also had a thumbstud release button on the cocking handle instead of a key-operated knob like most other firearms at that time. Withdrawal levers became popular among shooters in the 1930s as they became more common among military officers and law enforcement personnel who needed to keep their handguns unlocked during transport or seasonal storage. These levers could be pulled one-handed without having to hold onto either hand while doing so, making disarmament much easier. By 1945, all major American handgun manufacturers had introduced some form of withdrawal lever into their products lineups (though not all offered them universally). This trend continued into the next decade with increasing popularity of semi-automatic handguns such as revolvers and Glock pistols; these guns generally require two hands to operate due to their design features (e.g., grip plates on frame) which make disarming them difficult using just one hand alone

Oakdale is a small town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area. The Oakdale post office was established in 1881, and discontinued operations in 1964. The first settler in what is now Oakdale was Wm. Fenton who platted the town on August 10, 1871. Russel Landon built his initial home around 1872 and named it "Landon House" after himself and neighbor Charles Landon (1824-1910), both of whom had helped him to found his farmstead three miles east of present-day Oakdale on a slight rise overlooking Cherry Creek Valley. In 1882 Wm. Fenton's son-in-law John Dickson bought land adjoining Landon's for $1,000 and began to build a log cabin which he called "Dickson Cabin". In 1886 he married Anna Nelson; they would have six children together before she died at age 31 during childbirth in 1889. Their only child survived infancy: Lloyd (1887-1972). In 1901 Wm., Jr.'s daughter Nellie married John Juhl; their marriage ended in divorce two years later when Juhl caught cholera from a patient at Homeopathic Hospital while undergoing treatment there for an abdominal infection he contracted while caring for another patient (Juhl died of cholera within one week of contracting it). After World War I many farmers left the Great Lakes region to enter the labor market as war production increased demand for agricultural goods outside of America. By 1919 only four men were still living onFarmington Lake with 8 head of stock and 2 horses: George Hennepin (1862-1947), Wm.(George) Stephenson(1865-1946), Hiram Beman(1867-1950), Julius & Mary Willcox(1870-) . Many others moved into what became known as "the camp" or rural areas near Twin Cities because advances had been made by refrigeration technologies during this time which allowed storage crops such as corn without frost damage or pests being able to attack them before harvest
