Oakdale is a small town in Minnesota, United States. The population was 715 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first gun in Oakdale was an old fashioned shotgun that was used by the local farmers to protect their crops from bumblebees and other inquisitive insects. After years of use and modification, this shotgun became the basis for the current firearms industry standard, the Ruger 10/22 Rifle. In 1876, Charles Goodrich developed a machine gun that he called the "Goodrich Gun". This weapon was successfully test fired for the first time on July 11th, 1876 by Major General George Armstrong Custer during his campaign against Sitting Bull in Dakota Territory. Goodrich's machine gun would later become known as "The Buffalo Gun" due to its ability to destroy large buffalo herds with ease. Oakdale's history unfortunately does not include any firearm manufacturerships or significant firearm development until after World War II when new interests such as Glock began operations hereabouts. However, there are several notable survivors of these early days in Oakdale including: Jensen Arms (1948-1958), Brownells Firearms (1961-1985), VP Tactical (1976-present), PEARL Guns (1987-1996) and American Armory Corporation(1991-2002).

The population was 3,564 at the 2010 census. The Oakdale community was platted in 1873 as a result of an act by the Minnesota Territorial Legislature to establish townships within Ramsey County. On February 8, 1879, it became a part of what would be called the Twin Cities Area; this area included both Minneapolis and St. Paul and had a population of 24,000 people as early as 1880. Today's Oakdale began to rise rapidly during the late 19th century due to its location on the railroads that connected Minneapolis with St. Paul and other eastern cities. With new businesses opening up around every turn, Oakdale quickly achieved parity with its larger neighboring town, Wabasha Junction (now Chaska). One major factor that helped make Oakdale such an attractive place to live was its wide variety of stores and businesses - from grocery stores to clothing stores, dry goods stores to banks - which made it easy for residents to get their groceries and other needs met without having to leave their homes or go out into the community's many businesses. In addition, many families kept chickens and pigs in their backyards until they were able to purchase some kind of housing developments closer to downtown – this allowed them access not just to fresh eggs but also fresh meat products available only from local farmers'. Oakdale is a small town in Laclede County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 513 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Maplewood-Ayersboro Micropolitan Statistical Area. Oakdale was founded in 1857 and incorporated as a city in 1902. It is named after an oak tree that stands on the east side of town. The first residents of the area were farmers who grew corn, wheat, and oats. In 1857, they built a log cabin on what is now Main Street and started to trade with other communities in the region. They also built a sawmill and gristmill around this time. By 1870, they had added a few stores and two churches to their community. In 1902, Oakdale became an incorporated city under the name of Maplewood-Ayersboro. At this time it had a population of 672 people and it continued to grow until World War II when it declined slightly due to military service and then post-war decline due to suburbanization within Laclede County! However, by 1990 its population had increased again by over 20% thanks largely to growth in ruralresidential areas adjacent to downtown! As recently as 2000 only about 60% of Oakdale's residents identified themselves as Minnesotans!
Oakdale was founded in 1857 by Andreas Björkman and his wife, Anna. The town grew rapidly due to the commerce brought in by the railroad. In 1886, Oakdale became a city. In 1951, it merged with neighboring Maple Grove to form the current city of Oakdale.
