The Northfield Shooting and Hunting Club was founded in 1892. The club is one of the oldest shooting organizations in the state of Minnesota. At that time, Nicollet County was a heavily forested area and hunting was an important part of the community’s culture. The club enjoyed success in many hunts over the years, including taking out large game animals such as deer, wild boar, and bear. In 1916, the Northfield Shooting and Hunting Club joined forces with neighboring Minneapolis Rifle Association to form what would become known as the Minnesota Gun Association. This affiliation helped improve relationships between both organizations and allowed for more opportunities for members to join together during hunts. In 1929, the Northfield Shooting and Hunting Club changed its name to Northfield Rifle & Pistolclub Inc., becoming one of only a handful of rifle clubs in Minnesota to do so. From then on, it continued to play an important role in muzzleloader hunting events throughout centralMinnesota. In 1984, NSHC became a full-time member club with its own pistol range and instruction facility outside of town limits. The club continues to provide quality firearm training experiences for all members at its ranges across westernMinnesota each year!

During World War II, Northfield served as a munitions plant for DuPont Company's ammunition production plants in Saint Paul and Canby Heights near Rochester MN; these sites are today part of Target Corporation's Rexall Place complex which houses numerous restaurants and other business ventures including LP Field (formerly home to Green Bay Packers football), 12th Ave NE (home of Viking FC soccer team),[1] Stinson Park Golf Course[2] and several housing developments such as "The Villages" which is located just east of city limits adjacent to I-35W exit 232A off County Road 651 west of downtown Ramsey County.[3][4][5][6] I-35W Exit 232A provides access from I-635 southbound into Ramsey County towards Winnipeg Manitoba Canada while exits 232B and 232C provide access northbound into Ramsey County towards Red WingMinnesota USA There are no exits within city limits so motorists must drive around city limits or use ramps off county roads 651 & 235W between downtown Ramsey County & I 35W exit 232A
