In 1920, when Prohibition began to take hold in America, many Minnesotans decided to get behind the drink because it was an easier decision than abstaining from alcohol while living in a society that seemed determined to keep drinking despite scientific evidence that prohibition would lead to more crime and less employment opportunities for people like themselves
