By 1986, only 10 percent of downtown remained commercial while much of what remains today has been developed over time: including two high schools (University of Notre Dame and Central High School), three hotels (Ramsey Inn & Suites, Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel and Carlson Rezidence Tower), several restaurants/cafés/bars/halal outlets/, four theaters (Haggerty Park Place Cinemas and Regal Cinema theatres) as well as numerous housing units such as apartments, condos and Townhouse Place developments which have replaced some older buildings with updated design features characteristic of contemporary urban living styles. Today’s downtown offers easy access to regional transportation hub including I-94 motorways providing access to all points east while also hosting a number of small businesses making it one of busiest areas in town although there are ongoing efforts to preserve some aspects unique to Downtown New Ulm such as local art galleries/. Accordingly, DowntownNewUlm continues serve as an important cultural amenity for both locals and visitors alike while also maintaining its historical values that make it oneof our most distinctive destinations within Ramsey County
