Gun hammer history in New Brighton, Minnesota began with the arrival of firearms in this community in the early 1800s. The first guns to be brought into the area were pistols and rifles. The first gunsmith in town was located on Second Street and he built handguns and shotguns. In 1876, a store owner named John Prentice opened a store on Fourth Street which quickly became one of the most popular spots for buying weapons in town. In 1902, Gunsmith George Wager bought land at Tenth and Main Streets for a new gun smithy. This shop soon became known as Wager’s Gunsmithing Company. In 1911, Sheriff Haggerty established a jail at Ninth and Main Streets where he kept all his arrested criminals until their trials could be conducted by an attorney. This jail also served as the storage facility for all of the town’s confiscated firearms. From 1901-1911, New Brighton saw an increase in shootings that left four people dead and thirteen injured. New Brighton is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, near its confluence with the Missouri River. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. New Brighton is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. New Brighton was founded in 1854 as a trading post on the site of present-day Grand Forks,MN by James Halsey and his brother-in-law Amasa Lincoln . The first store in New Brighton opened on October 14, 1854. By 1870, there were six stores and 25 inhabitants; it had become an important stop on the Great Northern Railway line between Duluth and Chicago. In 1906, when Minnesota became a state, New Brighton became one of its townships; it remained so until being admitted to city status in 1968. In 1978, mayor incumbent Phil Lambburn proposed annexing neighboring communities of Brooklyn Park and White Bear Lake into New Brighton; this proposal was not accepted but later repealed due to public opposition. In 2007–2008 businessman Robb Murchison announced he would build a $50 million mixed use development called "The Circle" in downtown New Brighton which would include office tower space as well as residential units and retail spaces along First Street east from Main Street (the original business district) for people who work or shop Downtown StPaul or other nearby cities during day time hours only –a new amenity never seen before in any major city! This project has generated much interest throughout MN & even internationally!

New Brighton is a small town in the extreme northwest corner of Minnesota, United States. The population was 573 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The town began as a log settlement on an east-west arm of the Mississippi River in 1829, when what is now New Brighton Township was organized as a result of land purchases from Traverse City settlers and others who had followed steamboats up that river during the 1830s and 1840s. The first post office in New Brighton was established in 1835, and it remained open until 1907. The first store in town was built by Methodist preacher James Waddell around 1836, and it operated for about 20 years. A school was built in 1837 and held its first classes two weeks later; it served as both a public school and a day care center until 1915. In 1886, an addition to the old school building were erected to house the new Carnegie Library, which opened its doors that year. In 1916, New Brighton became an incorporated village under state law; it continued to be governed by a board of trustees until 1951 when township status reverted back to individual residents without any governing body. New Brighton has experienced many changes over its history: In 1911–12, construction began on what would become Three Bridges Road (now Hwy 10), one of largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in Minnesota; it connected downtown Minneapolis with rural areas to the west and north while bypassing smaller towns along Interstate 35W like New Brighton on its way there. The project brought jobs and revenue to the town while also improving transportation access for residents within reach of downtown Minneapolis or beyond; immediately following construction completion, some local businesses petitioned for incorporation into either Minneapolis or St Paul so they could benefit from same level of government services but allodynia resulted preventing such requests from being honored It wasn't until after World War II that suburban development really took off here – with subdivisions popping up throughout nearby counties – meaning most people today live within 1 mile (2 km) of their jobs or less . Unfortunately this does little to protect historic districts like Three Bridges Road from development if/when those developments are allowed near them again .
