The residents of Mounds View wereSchool Board members from 1888 to 1904 and they also served as Mayor from 1902 to 1905 and as City Councilman from 1913 to 1915. Mrs. Mound died in 1927, aged 95 years old, leaving her large estate to the town. In 1959, the remains of Mrs.Mound were reburied at Elmwood Cemetery in Minneapolis with full honors including an official plaque honoring her legacy as well as an annual award given for excellence by theverning body of MN Municipalities
