Mounds View is a small town in Minnesota, United States. The population was 4,684 at the 2010 census. Mounds View is part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. It is located on the border of Ramsey and Dakota counties. Mounds View was founded by fur traders in 1824 as a trading post on an ancient Sioux hunting ground called Pembina Hills. The name came from a mound of earth built by one of the traders, David Oldman. In 1828, when Ramsey County was organized, Mounds View became its first county seat and remained so until 1959. The original village site was located between two hills about northeast of present-day Mounds View proper and west of what is now Interstate 35E. A log cabin and early stores were built there in 1825-26 by Ebenezer Sawyer; they were replaced by a more permanent building in 1830-31 with additions including a mechanic shop, storehouse, and schoolroom. The first settler to arrive in what would become Moundview Township was John Fitzpatrick in 1827 (the year before Ramsey County was organized). He established his farmstead about northwest of present-day Mounds View proper on land that he purchased from Chief Hoaxahegea (Hokkaido) for $10 per acre ($2/acre at current prices). In 1830 or 1831 also pioneer George Wetherbee erected an addition to his house near where it stands still today on Main Street east of Pembina Avenue; this addition included a barn, outhouses, and two pecan trees that served as homes for Wetherbee's family during their stay hereabouts. By 1840 most settlers had moved away from the area because it had become too dangerous due to hostile Indian activity nearby; however some remained until after Minnesota statehood in 1912. When Ramsey County formed under Act No.: 107-539 on December 20th,-1858 all but 1/3rds (of its then 6 million acres) lay within Dakota County which then comprised only 2/3rds (of its then 9 million acres) thereof...it would be another 36 years until township form could actually take place within our borders! -John Fitzpatrick Sr., History buff who founded modern day Moundview

Mounds View, Minnesota is a small town in northwestern Minnesota, United States. It is located on the edge of the Great Lakes region and along the east bank of the Mississippi River. Mound View has been inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years and it is one of only two towns in Minnesota where more than 1% of its residents are Native American. The first Europeans to visit Mounds View were French traders Pierre Le Moyne and his partner Étienne Brûlé in 1675. They stopped at what is now Mounds View on their way north to Lake Superior. Early settlers were farmers who grew corn, wheat, potatoes, beans, onions, tobacco, horses and cattle. Many New Englanders also came to live inMounds View during this time period because it was long noted as a place where goods could be brought quickly overland from Canada without having to go through Ohio or Pennsylvania. In 1853, when Minneapolis became a city, part of it included land that would later become Mounds View Township. When Minneapolis was annexed into Chicago in 1857, much of what would later become Moundview Township including present-day downtown was included in new city boundaries. However, much of the original township still remains within Minneapolis today; notably near downtown’s Business Park area which sits on land that once housed many old Indian trading posts dating back to before European settlement even began! In 1862Minnesota statehood was granted to Minnesota by President Abraham Lincoln – making it both the 32nd state admitted to Ulysses S Grant’s “Fourteenth Amendment” Unionist Party rule followinga presidential election campaign season marked by bitter partisan warfare throughout most of America preceding Lincoln’s inauguration as president less than two months earlier! The Roberts Act (1862) added an extra district (Moundview Township)to newly organized Minneapolis County! With this change in county government came also another shift in social demographics: while proportionately more Germans had settled within Minneapolis County since 1862 due largely to Immigration Acts passed by Congress during that year – primarily through efforts spearheaded by attorney John Hennepin (D-MN), Irish Catholics continued outnumbered German Lutherans hereabouts several fold until at least 1920 when all parishes within MP had either English speaking Catholic majorities or very close ties with local English churches! This situation changed abruptly after World War II when large numbers German Protestants leftMinnesota for Oklahoma and other states due primarily theretoldoctrines governing service peacetime conduct called “Aryanism” which forbid interracial marriage among white people regardless of family relationships!!! Eventually resulting primarily from economic factors rather than religious beliefs many Germans returned home again during ensuing decades although some sporadic visits back occurred until current day….. One reason why few Germans remain today inside MP despite recent waves of immigration is likely attributed to early 20th century anti-immigrant sentiment instigated not just by MP nativeborn officials but also some homegrown politicians associated with pro-German Protestant backlash groups such as Knights Radiant………. It should be mentioned that there are numerous businesses located within Downtown Minneapolis proper including Macy's department store - built specifically for natives/minnesotans workingWithin City Limits….."

He named the area New France because he believed that the land would one day be awarded to France as part of the Louisiana Purchase. The region became part of the United States after President James K. Polk made the land purchase in 1846.
