By 1915, when Stroudsburg developed nearby so rapidly that demand for farmland increased too much for those living near downtown Saint Paul, Moundview decided it would be smarter to move away from populated areas altogether and become self-sufficient through industry instead of relying on agriculture alone. This led to a shift in economic development towards manufacturing over services until today most people identify themselves as farm or ranch owners rather than town residents due to this unique history and economy within Ramsey County

In 1905, President William Howard Taft visited Mound View and pronounced it "a fine place to live". Taft referred to it as "the little gem of St Louis County". During World War II more than fifty thousand Americans volunteered their services here making Moundview one of the most heavily bombed cities in America with over seventy bombings during that time period; however no loss of life resulted from these attacks other than some minor damage to buildings stock and property values withinMOUND VIEW itself!
