Mounds View is a town in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 5,459 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The town was started in 1853 as a farming community on the east side of Mounds Lake and grew to be one of the largest towns in Hennepin County when it incorporated in 1875. In 1905, the town merged with nearby Lyndale to form Mounds View- Lyndale. The merger caused some protests because there were several residents in Lyndale who were endorsed by the Republican Party while those living in Mounds View were not endorsing that party affiliation. Moundview is home to both an American Legion post and a Veterans Affairs clinic which are open 24 hours a day/7 days per week.
Mounds View is a census-designated place in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,816 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis–St.Paul metropolitan area. Mounds View was founded in 1851 as a farming community on the edge of what is now South Stroudsburg Township and blazed by Pioneer George Armstrongiggs to commemorate his wagon train's first crossing of that stream. Today's Mounds View lies within today's South Stroudsburg Township and its boundaries were much more limited when it first developed; it included only a small portion of present-day Ramsey County. The name "Mounds View" was chosen because its location overlooking water on an ancient Indian mound (now known as the Mound Valley) made it convenient for settlers to consult with their Rabun Nation guides about upcoming raids or other important matters on the frontier during this time period. Reverend Elijah Munroe, who arrived in 1857 from Hannibal, Missouri, recommended that residents take up farming here so they could provide goods for nearby traders and missionaries travelling through central Minnesota westward on their way to preach Christianity to Native Americans living east of the Mississippi River. In 1861 Mounds View became part of separateRamsey County when all but a tiny fraction of present-day Ramsey County became organized into municipalities under state government structure followingMinnesota’s admission into statehood.

Mounds View is a small town in the state of Minnesota, located on the border of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The population was 1,953 at the 2000 census. Mounds View is one of only a few remaining communities in northwestern Minnesota that are completely surrounded by federal land. It has been said that "the people who live near [Moundsview] think of themselves as country bumpkins." The first residents of what would become Mounds View were German immigrants from Naumburg, New York, in 1854. They cleared land and built a log cabin called "Hanson's Prairie" on what is now Northwest corner of 2nd Street and Elm Street. In 1875, they erected a small wooden frame house known as "Fenton's House". A post office was established here in 1876 and it remained in operation until 1951. In 1886, Philip Kapp purchased 640 acres (245 hectares) along the north side of present-day Mound View Road from Andrew Carnegie for $5,000 cash. Kapp named his new community after George Washington Carver – Sr., an early investor with him in agriculture. At first the town consisted only of his own home and farmstead; however, over time Kapp added other homes to his original cluster including: Hennepin County Courthouse (now part of downtown Minneapolis), First United Methodist Church (1892), Masonic Lodge No. 3 (1910), Maple Leaf Cemetery (1911), Rapids Mill School Annex/Lodge No. 514-A (1915), and finally Hotel Carlton which opened in 1922. During World War II many workers who had their families stay with them while they were away volunteered their time to help build airfields or munitions plants around Minnesota or even farther away such as Arkansas or California; however most people returned to their homes once hostilities ended which left behind large numbers of soldiers' families living longest times outside any country during wartime period up until recent times when more military members have stationed themselves overseas permanently than ever before due to technology advances etc... However some soldiers' families did manage find permanent housing elsewhere such as Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania where many high school seniors now live because there are no schools within driving distance for them anymore In 1951 when Highway 6 was built through this area making access much easier for commuters it also brought more people into Mounds View so much so that almost all businesses closed except one which still does business today - The Post Office which moved out onto Northwest corner 2nd street about 20 years ago When I lived here all these years ago there were three churches - First United Methodist Church on Elm Street next to Mrs Rector's Store then Presbyterian church across from her on 2nd Street next to Sears & Roebuck store then Baptist church down at State Line drive between Railroad tracks - today there is only One Church left active inside town limits not sure if it still meets ends meet
