Mounds View is a town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area. The first European to see Mounds View was Jean Baptiste de La Salle on July 8, 1784 while exploring the lands between present-day Minneapolis and Saint Paul. He named it "Moundview" after a nearby mound he had seen from his shipwrecked voyage across the Great Lakes in 1785. The name stuck and Mounds View annexation was granted by Minnesota General Assembly on October 10, 1855. The township was established in 1872 as a result of an act of the Minnesota Legislature which considered land south of State Road 21 in Ramsey County too rugged for farming purposes and offered instead to award it to townships that would build roads and other amenities therein. The town of Mounds View formed from this portion on December 5, 1872; it became a city on December 12, 1954 when its incorporated limits were expanded westward beyond City Hall's boundaries. In 1898 Jens Jensen began buying lots near what is now east side street and Old Highway 169 (now Interstate 94) outside of Mounds View proper; this land became known as "Jensen's Ridge". Jensen developed much of what is now eastern Ramsey County before moving into agricultural production himself in 1950s/1960s with help from Pioneer grain elevator developers Wernher Schultz & Sons Incorporated . In 2001 Jens Jensen died aged 91 years at home surrounded by his family following many years spent ranching cattle and growing vegetables outbuildings including a greenhouse providing winter cover for about 100 acres .. Today there are multiple families living on the ridge who continue to farm produce year round with some raising hogs during times of freeze up or bad weather

This shotgun was called the Browning Automatic Rifle and it fired shot from a revolving barrel using compressed air pressure instead of firearms powder pellets. In 1903, Russian inventor Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky designed and built the world’s first firearm using pneumatics – the Tchaikovsky Gunpowder Rifle。 This weaponfired projectiles with compressed nitrogen gas rather than firearms powder pellets

Mounds View, Minnesota is a small town located in the eastcentral part of the United States. Started as a Village in 1851, it became a Town in 1865. The population was 2,906 at the 2010 census. Mound View is home to two historical sites: an original Big Sioux Chief's Dakota village and a post office from 1871 to 1902. The first permanent settler in what would become Mounds View was Elijah Whitehead, who arrived with his family on May 15, 1851. He built his log cabin on the present site of Girdwood Drive between Pine and Maple Streets. By 1870, there were five families living here: Whitehead, Parrish, Smith, Rankin and Rankin's wife Jane. In 1862 Captain John Meeker built a stockade around his farmstead nearpresent-day Eighth Street and Highway 61W which served as Dodge City’s first courthouse until 1911 when that building was destroyed by fire. In 1865 Girdwood Place was named after General James Hennepin’s daughter Gertrude (died 1863). Mrs. Hennepin had married Captn John Meeker while he was stationed at Fort Snelling (later Minneapolis) during the Civil War; they moved to their new home in 1865 and lived there until her death in 1888. The house still stands today on Fourth Street just east of Girdwood Drive – one of only three remaining historic homes in Mounds View dating back to before World War II Governor Edwin Dibble designated MoundView as its own town on January 7th, 1865 after recommendations from commissioners appointed by President Andrew Johnson following land purchases along Hennepin Boulevard from George Hudson . Girdwood Place became known as “Mound View” because residents were accustomed to burying their dead within earshot of their residences for fear someone might steal them or destroy them accidentally while away at work or playing outside . The post office name change followed shortly thereafter – practical considerations rather than any symbolic relating tochiefs buried hereabouts . In 1902 the first boxcarload of mail brought through Mounds View came through using an old Indian trail over current day Interstate 35E
