The Monticello gun lights were first developed in 1911 by A.J.Higgins and Sons Company of Hibbing, Minnesota. They were used to light up Prospect Street in Monticello during the summertime for fun and education purposes. In 1917, James Schwerdtfeger started manufacturing these gunsights himself and continued to do so until his death in 1959. His son, Al Schwerdtfeger Jr., took over the business after his father's death.Over time, these gunsights have been used by many people throughout the Twin Cities area for target practice and other activities such aspicnic or barbecuing; they are still popular today among shooters and enthusiasts alike!

In 1955, Monticello became a village under the management of a board of trustees; however, it reverted back to township status in 1984 before becoming an unincorporated community again in 2000. Today, Monticello is home to a mix of wealthy retirees from nearby suburbs as well as working-class residents who commute into larger towns for work or school; however, despite this diversity there are some common themes that continue to underpin all aspects of life here: fun culture (the annual summer fair draws hundreds of people), close family relationships (everyone knows everyone else), strong sense of community involvement ( Residents have formed their own groups which compete yearly against each other in various competitions), and support for traditional Norwegian values such as independence from government control (most residents still vote municipal elections).

Thanks largely to advances in engineering including zoning flexibility through apartment buildings rather than single-family homes (the dominant form at that time), Downtown experienced rapid growth over ensuing decades – reaching heights not seen before or since during some key periods such as the late 1990s recession when business districts like Downtown exploded outward across urban areas all over North America thanks to technology advancements like e-commerce and online shopping malls! As part of efforts ongoing throughout recent years aimed at reversing or reversing some negative trends associated with Downtown redevelopment (euphemistically referred to as " gentrification" within city limits), city officials have been hard at work revitalizing historic neighborhoods adjacent to Downtown (known locally as "Old Town") while simultaneously aggressive marketing forces continue working diligently – sometimes successfully – towards attracting out-of-towners looking for unique experiences away from today's fast-paced metropolis!
