By 1870, many stores and other businesses had been built in what is now downtown Minnetonkanamie along with two churches and one school district – all within walking distance of each other. In 1907, Minneapolis began expanding rapidly due to new transportation technologies such as streetcars and automobiles and needed more land to build up their city limits so they renamed their original town “Minnetonka” after Ebenezer “Ebenezer” Minnette who donated land for the purpose along with $1 million dollars from his estate which remains today an important part of local civic life the towns growth continued until 1917 when World War I destroyed much property east of Interstate 35W making access difficult so development slowed until around 1949 when Interstate 35W reopened giving developers plenty of opportunity once again during this time there were several waves of immigrants starting with Scandinavians coming during WWII followed by Italians during 1960-1970s then Koreans during 1980s until present day Mexicans have started arriving recently

The towns were placed within five Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regions based on their proximity to major uranium mines and plants in neighboring states. Today, Minnetonka enjoys some of the lowest rates for electricity consumption among these nuclear-free areas—owing largely to its large renewable energy resources.
