However, there are now bus service connections betweenMinneapolis andSt Paul which continue even though Amtrak no longer runs through town. In addition to itsRailroad heritage, other attractions in Minnetonka include numerous golf courses including Carver Country Club (), Iron Mountain Golf Course (), Riviera Golf Resort (), Red Wing Country Club (), Tomahawk Ridge Golf Course (), Mukwonago Country Club () and several large shopping malls such as Target stores () and JCPenney (). Additionally, there are many small businesses located throughout town which provide goods and services including bars(), restaurants(), taxidermy/, photography studios/galleries/, printing shops/printing presses/, schools/universities/technical schools/.

Minnetonka, Minnesota is a small city located in the state of Minnesota. Minnetonka was founded on August 16, 1858, by Norwegian immigrants. The city is named after the town of Nome in Alaska. The population of Minnetonka was 5,453 at the 2010 census. The first permanent settlers in what is now Minnetonka came from Norway in 1851 and were farmers. In 1857, two brothers named Rasmus and Ole Bergman bought land northwest of present-day Minneapolis for $1 per acre. They built a log cabin and started farming the land. In 1862, they married Anna Nordwall and moved to their new farmstead. They raised livestock and grew barley, wheat, peas and carrots for food. In 1865, four residents of Minneapolis sent petition signatures to the legislature urging that Minnetonka be made a town because its location on the border betweenMinnesota and Iowa gave it an advantage over other towns within the state when it came to bids for federal construction projects such as bridges or roads. On February 12th that year, James Laidlaw (1827-1900) became the first mayor of Minnetonka through acting mayoralty with advice from committee members appointed by Governor John A. Andrew (1825-1910). Laidlaw desired to make sure that all citizens had equal access to education opportunities so he established a school board with six members who would provide instruction in reading music etching etc., math abstracts 3rd grade–8th grade science laboratory experiments; natural philosophy demonstrations; social studies addition; German language classes 1st & 2nd grades evening during weekdays no later than 8 p m.; Swedish language classes 3rd & 4th grades evening during weekdays no later than 8 p m.; one teacher for each sex in addition to assistant teachers signifying one half day’s salary per month—an arrangement which has been continued since then.—Minnetonicatation Library pamphlet No 346

The team enjoyed success during its time in Minnetonka – winning four state championships between 1966 and 1970. However, by 1978, discussions were underway about movingthe team away fromMinneapolis altogether citing declining fan support. Eventually, however,the American Football League (NFL) granted MINnenettonkas request for expansion andthe team moved back to Minneapolis in 1984 after spending thirty years at their original site within walking distanceof fans throughout central Minnesota
