The first expansion mount in Minnetonka was the Western Star Mount on Second Street. The company added two more mounts in 1907- 1908, when they purchased the assets of the defunct Western Star Mount Company. The first was a steel frame mount that held a rifle or shotgun, and the second was a wood frame mount that held a rifle or shotgun. The company also manufactured an aluminum alloy axis system for shotguns in 1916. In 1930, the Minnetonka Gun Club moved to their present location at 9th and Elm Streets, and began to produce their own firearms. They continued to produce mounts until 1957 when they sold their business to American Arms Corporation. From then on, American Arms Corporation produced all mounts under the name "Western Star".
Minnetonka is a small city in the Twin Cities metropolitan area in Minnesota. The population was 38,711 at the 2010 census. The city is located on the north bank of the Mississippi River and is bordered by St. Paul to the east, Minneapolis to the north, Kane County to the west, and Cook County to the south. It is part of MN's 8th congressional district. The first Europeans to come ashore in what is now Minnetonka were French traders who landed there in 1694 during their fur trade venture upriver from Saint Croix on Hudson Bay. In 1824, General John A. Richardson founded a trading post here after driving out Juniper Indians with gunfire while they were scalping Native Americans near present-day Hutchinson Lake on August 23 that year. The post was abandoned after several years due to lack of resources and competition from nearby towns such as Hibbing and Mankato which had begun establishing themselves as retail centers following discovery of gold along Interstate 35W in 1855. In 1875, George Wernham set up a flour mill here which became one of Minnesota’s most important commercial interests until it closed its doors for good in 1924 when World War I began sucking away all available marketable resources. After Wernham’s death his son William took over operations; but within two years he too closed his mill because of heavy competition from other mills owned by J P Mills (now Honeywell) across town in Minneapolis). At that point much larger plants were built along both sides of I-35W just outside Minnetonka proper where raw materials came into contact with consumers who would process them into finished products like cars or appliances before selling them back into the market place or simply using them directly for housing and jobs purposes – an industrial revolution beginning right here! In 1954, when white flight started moving people out of black America starting with Detroit followed by many others until eventually all but three million people living within commuting distance of major cities were minorities by 1960 – Minnetonka had becomemajority European American! And so it continued through peaceful protests against apartheid policies led by activists like Marvin Gaye before finally giving way to integration under pressure from government elites (the “white flight” movement being code named “ affirmative action”) culminating with African American Pastor Martin Luther King Jr.'s march from Selma Alabamato Montgomery Alabamain 1965! It wasn't until later that Minnetonka voters approved annexation by St Paul Township effective March 1st 1969 making it one big municipality - another sign that progressivism was alive and well HERE IN MINNETONKA – long after other places had given up trying! But even today few know about this rich history despite its impact having significant shaped not only our community but also our economy where we still manufacture some pretty nifty stuff today including high end appliances like dishwashers/ dryers etc., digital media players/streamers etc., agricultural equipment like tractors/gators etc., textiles etc…..and even some aircraft manufacturing!!!

Minnetonka is a small town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The name "Minnetonka" comes from two Finnish words: minna (a little) andeton (a place to dwell). In 1854, Isaac Stevens founded a trading post here with the hope of enticing traders and settlers to come to what was then a remote region in central Minnesota. Stevens called his station "Minnatonkka." over time the name changed but never lost its meaning as a junction of different cultures and traveling students seeking adventure. In 1881, Minnetonka became an incorporated village when it joined the town of Minneapolis proper. By 1909, however, Minnetonka's population had shrunk to 874 people due largely to farming losses during World War I and Prohibition. In 1951, Minnetonka again disappeared fromMinnesota history when it was combined with neighboring Rochester into one rural municipality known as Winnebago Township on the east side of Interstate 94northwest of Minneapolis. In 2006, however, after years of petitioning by residents and recognition from nearby towns such as Hastings and Brooklyn Heights that their villages still existed within Winnebago Township - despite being disjoined from Minneapolis proper - MinnetonKA Town Council voted 3-2 in favor of annexing their villages back into Ramsey County so they could continue to participate fully in local government affairs including fire protection and zoning decisions while also receiving services offered by Ramsey County agencies such as social services and library systems! Today’s MINNETONKA – home to farmers markets & restaurants; beautiful small cityscape; rich cultural heritage; world class education; rich history – began as an agricultural community supported by Republicans who wanted access to farmland for slaughterhouses & Textile Mill operations during World War I; growth followed opportunities available through railroads which led to real estate development hereabouts thanks in part to two entrepreneurs – Cyrus Hixon (1863-1941) founder/owner/operator of Hibbing Gas Light Co., first light bulb store west of St Paul & Charles Jensensen (1868-1949) owner/operator & general contractor for Duluth Elevated Railway Company which built lines eastward out OF MINNETONKA through rural areas now included within cities like Duluth & Maple Grove since 1911 – both men making millions thru their businesses while trying not TO leave their communities! The town of Minnetonka was organized in 1854. The first settler in the area, John Glover, arrived in 1855. The town was named after a small lake near its location. The town developed quickly and by 1860, it had a population of around 100 people. In 1865, the Minnesota Legislature passed an act that allowed for township organization within the state. So, Minnetonka became a township on July 1, 1865.
