This store soon became known as Lapp's Grocery which continued operations until 1984 when it merged with Supervalu stores across the United States to form Kroger Co.. One reason why Lapp's Grocery survived so long may have been because it was not subject to strict health codes then like they are today - lead paint wasn't allowed in foods then (it has since been repealed), cedar wood wasn't used extensively inside stores (it still isn't allowed), and asbestos didn't become common until later(although some evidence suggests that asbestos might have caused some fires). Another reason could be because management put great emphasis on customer service which remain one hallmark today at Kroger stores across America even though their physical layout has changed quite a bit over time... At that time there were few settlements outside Chicago and St Louis because it was considered too dangerous for company men to travel overland and risk being kidnapped or killed by hostile Sioux Indians. So early pioneers traveled downriver through what is now North Dakota and Nebraska before reachingMinnesota’s great plains where they set up tents on Indian reservations near present day Fargo and Rapid City (later Sioux Falls). One such pioneer family named Nordahl later moved their cattle ranch 5 miles northeast of present-dayMinnetonKA on Hennepin Creek where they built their first log cabin in 1869.* This initial settlement proved successful enough for them to continue expanding their business until 1880 when they constructed a second cotton gin adjacent to their original building.* Nine years later another pioneer family -the Muir brothers -completed construction on what is today known as “Minnie” Square* at Third Street and Highway 50 West††† between 1888-1892 due largely to private donations from local businessmen John Muir Sr., James Atherton*, Isaac Pierce*, George Rogers Clark*, Everett Cady*, Augustus Herrmann *and others*. From this pointforward growth became more frenetic as businesses flourished despite frequent strikes by Minneapolis dockworkers working for rival shipping companies! By 1906 more than one hundred businesses had been opened within five blocks radius around downtown! Unfortunately this period also saw some legendary clashes between Pioneer Entrepreneurs like James Atherton*(*pictured) [*picture]over control over town affairs* [*picture]while other entrepreneurs such as Ransom Mabry (*pictured*) [*picture]created some quite innovative transportation facilities like gasoline powered buses that ferry employees home from work or take passengers directly into downtown not using streetcars or carriages** (*pictures 2 & 3 are postcards taken circa 1916) . However even during these heady times there were still occasional struggles between Pioneer Menfolk over land rights and development opportunities: For example prominent Odd Einar Nordahl fought an epic legal battle against his fellow Pioneer John Muir Sr.*(*pictured), eventually winning $2 million dollars* (*picture) while another key player – Mapleton farmer George Rogers Clark – effectively squabbled with his neighbor Mapleton lumber magnate David Kingsbury over access to land east-of-town …[which] led eventuallytoclosureofMapletonLumberCompany’s factories byDavidKingsbury *.
