Maple Grove is a small town in the northeast corner of Minnesota, United States. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and is the third most populous municipality in that area after Minneapolis and Saint Paul. The population was 10,811 at the 2010 census. Maple Grove is located inverness Township, McLeod County. The first settler in what would become Maple Grove was David Snively, who arrived on July 7, 1851. He named his property "Meadowbrook". By 1854 it had been renamed "Maple Grove" after maple trees that were then being grown near his farmstead. In 1876 John Hendershot donated land to form a township; Maple Grove Township was organized on February 14, 1877. On November 3, 1915, the village of Maple Grove was incorporated as a separate municipality within Maple Grove Township; this happened because there had been requests from residents for both villages to be merged into one community. On October 16, 1934, due to an increase in logging activity around the town limits (due to routes newly opened up by Interstate 94), a fire destroyed approximately 80% of the lumberyards around Maple Grove and nearby towns including Hopkinsville and Rochester; this caused great damage to many homes and businesses within those towns as well as much agricultural land surrounding them which were lost forever with no hope of recovering any money or damages from such a tragedy. After World War II ended there wasn't much demand for lumber anymore so prices went down making it difficult for farmers to afford their crops either so they stopped growing things or turned towards hay production which also suffered greatly from low prices due to over use throughout Europe during that time period by countries like America because they could get good increases when selling stuff back home instead than having their governments lose money on exports like we did during those times

Maple Grove is a small town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. It was founded in 1885 by the Canadians who arrived there as refugees from the American Revolution. The population was 593 at the 2010 census. Maple Grove is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The town began as a farming community with only a few hundred residents. In 1885, brothers John and George MacDonald moved to Maple Grove from their farm near Hibbing and started a grocery store called the MacDonald Store Incorporated. The first post office opened in 1886, and it remained in operation until 1959. In 1903, ownership of the store passed from John MacDonald to his son, Angus MacDonald; this event is cited as the start of Maple Grove's commercial development. In 1916, when Ramsey County was created, Maple Grove became its own municipality under its own government; it has since changed two more times (in 1965 and 1998). In 1925, General Motors decided to establish a manufacturing plant here; it built an initial plant that produced Buick automobiles but closed it in 1984 after about 25 years of production. GM also constructed a large research center on School Street between Apple Road and Highway 605 which functioned as one of America's largest academic campuses for research into transportation engineering until its closure in 1992; many Michigan engineers who worked on this project are now living in nearby Rochester Township or Bloomington-Normal Township outside of Minneapolis/St Paul proper
Maple Grove was founded in 1854 by Alexander Graham Bell. The town grew quickly and soon had a post office, school, and church. In 1892, Maple Grove was incorporated as a village.
