From these homes they raised four boys: Ole Ditlevsen born February 24th 1882; Peder Olsen December 25th 1886; Lars Christensen January 2nd 1890; Ingeborg Kirstine Hansen May 16th 1902; Marie Rasmussen LiljEGrensgaard August 15th 1904). See map below... In 1880 when Jonas Linegarden came here he married Anne Björklund from Västerås County . His parents immigrated to America some time before that. Jonas Linegarden started his own store here called "Nelson & Andersen" back then but it closed down because there weren't any customers yet! Some years later he opened another store called "Linegard Bros." This store still operates today But I think it closed down around 1925? Anyway no bigdeal really since it wasn't really significant business anyway… until 1953 when we acquired our current Store #7653…. Our family has been running this Store ever since! This Store has served us faithfully thru thick and thin….. during prohibition we sold beer but due to state regulations we couldn't sell liquor…… although many people did buy 'liquor' across the border at Stonington , Conn .) We've always been open Sunday morning until 8 p.m., even though that's usually pretty slow tonight because all our traffic comes into town during lunchtime! We've got plenty Of parking lot ! And yes folks sometimes have trouble finding our address because it's written wrong on some maps but don't worry – just ask us! 😃
